firstly, are people still into LJ???
well, if people are still reading, i'm writing to say that this week is gonna be nuts at the Rex.....it's the IAJE festival from the 9th to the 12th, and the music is the best we'll ever get, better than the festival in the summer.
wed jan 9th : the 9:30 show is Dan Weiss and Dave Binney's group. this is seriously next level shit. all drummers should attend. and then the 1:00am show is Tim Ries (the Rolling Stones sax player) playing with Rich Brown (one of the best bass players in the world, seriously) i'm way too stoked for this one.
thurs jan 10th : 9:30 show is the Chris Terry group, who are among the leaders of the funky jazz scene in NY.
fri Jan 11th : Dave Liebman. never heard him, but he's supposed to be among the best.
all the shows are gonna be intense, but wednesday is the day i'll recommend the most. mad inspiration.
i'll be working till 4am every night except the saturday, i hope to see some of you.
