Changing the season

Stepping out to the pool, I felt the expected yet unfamiliar anxiety. The water and my body did not agree; My body was wholly against being immersed; The water was adequately heated. The process would have been much easier, if I could have robotically entered the water. Although my motions were seemingly mechanical, I was required to exert an effort beyond mere will. It was not enough that I had chosen this aquatic exercise; My actions needed to speak louder than my fear.
Yesterday, I was doing some research on trains (a.k.a. clicking through Wikipedia), when I came upon a surprising revelation. Contrary to my prior understanding of locomotives, it was made clear that modern locomotives use a diesel-electric engine system. It had always been my impression that locomotives were just behemoth-sized combustion engines. And though they still use diesel combustion to produce power, the diesel electric system reveals the most reliable way to make use of a combustion-motive system. I found it quite fascinating.
