Update: Hurricane Alex

Aug 03, 2004 20:48

*satellite blush* Ahem. Well it appears that my predictions were far off- you can't expect a satellite to be perfect.

Hurricane Alex is now a category 2 hurricane with its eye about 40 miles SSE of Cape Hatteras, NC. Its sustained winds are at 100 mph and its barometric pressure is 972 mb. He's moving NE at around 15 mph.

(Thanks to my co-workers and handlers at NOAA for making these available to the public)

I need to take some readings and some more pictures, so I'll post more later. The first named storm hitting the coast... this sounds like a busy season for me!
