Lord of Love

Apr 25, 2007 07:02

Here's a song I wrote in basic training, back in the summer of 2003.  I don't have it recorded anywhere, but I remembered most of it (along with the melody :D)  I couldn't remember the last two lines of the first and last verses, but I am pleased with what I came up with to finish them; it's better than I remembered it (or thought I remembered it!)

Lord, You see

All of me

And all that

I should be

How could I repay

The mercy of one day?

As You hold me

I only know to say...

(Chorus)

Lord of love, my heart is beating

For this life of joy You're leading

Ever in remembrance of all

You have done

Lord I see You do Your will

I feel Your every promise fulfilled

Knowing all you must know

This heart's been won

Love You made

And in it You'll stay

And I'll find You there

I'll find You everyday

Though I may fall

Disgrace Your precious call

I know that You

Love me through it all

(Chorus)

Come to me

O Man who bleeds

For the wrongs that

You've told me to leave

All my fondest dreams

Have led me to You, King

May I rest in You
For eternity?

poetry & lyrics, love won me
