Runnings & Readings

Oct 03, 2006 13:28

Phew, I am sore!  I'm just getting back into exercise- this is my second week.  I had a cramp for about 80% of my last run... man did that suck.  Back in my cross country days,  when I was in shape, I almost never got cramps.  Ah... that was nice.  Hopefully I'm heading back into those days!  So for those of you who are also just getting back into exercise, or contemplating doing so, or are just having a difficult time with the affair, know that you are not alone!

I begin working at a hotel one mile away from church, this Wednesday night.  I'll be working the graveyard shift half of the time, so I'll have all kinds of time for reading and writing.  My book list is so far...
-finish my NIV Application Commentary of 1 Corinthians by Craig Blomberg
-finish the Star Wars Timothy Zahn Trilogy
-finish Must Christianity Be Violent? (a collection of essays)
-finish Reflections on the Psalms by Lewis
-A Grief Observed
-To Kill A Mockingbird
-Joshua (not from the Bible, mind you)
-The Silmarillion
-some like 500-page book I got for like a quarter at a used bookstore titled simply "Youth Ministry"
-Blue Like Jazz
-The Wide Window
-and I should probably read Eragon before the movie comes out (this Winter I think?)
-oh, haha, and The Purpose Driven Life (I haven't read it yet; I heard it's pretty unremarkable, but I want to know what so many people have read)

Have an excellent day!
God bless the reader :D

yours,
jake
