Monogamy? Promiscuity?

So, yesterday, I was struggling with the concept of monogamy.  It is so great a sacrifice to restrain yourself, sexually, until you find someone you're ready to commit to, for life.  Twenty-three years of being a virgin was coming to surface, and I honestly made up my mind to explore Free Love, if things don't work out with Keilah.

I found this ( Read more... )

elitism, sex, polyamory, children, egalitarianism, romance, monogamy, song of solomon, hell

I read your LJ note and I immediately thought of Mark Driscoll....

I can't say it's every day that I recommend married and singles
alike to listen to sermons on the book of "Song of Solomon." Though
today is the day that I highly recommend such a thing take place.

I've become a huge fan of author and pastor - Mark Driscoll. Here
are some facts about Mark Driscoll:

- Mars Hill Church is located in Seattle, WA.

- He started Mars Hill - at age 25.

- The church is now 12 years old, with the attendance of 8,000 (though, I
recently heard that his attendance went up by 2,000 people when he started
the Song of Solomon series.)

- His church is 50% male and 50% female. When does that ever happen?!
Finally a church that caters to both sexes. Rock on!

- He's married and has 5 children.

- Mark is a man's man. He speaks to both to the men and women and is very
real, down to earth and is well read.

To get a feel for Mark, watch this youtube clip:

The sermon series on Song of Solomon is entitled "The Peasant Princess."
You can download the sermons for FREE on itunes or listen to his sermons
on their church web-site: http://www.marshillchurch.org/

Enjoy!
