Cocktail Experiments

Alright, so I have a pretty rag-tag assortment of alcohol, and I'm pretty inexperienced mixing drinks, so the last two nights have been fun.  Last night I mixed some of my new strawberry daquiri mix with Bacardi dark rum (I didn't realize I didn't have any light rum.)  It was good, but I could tell the dark stuff was trying to make its presence known in the little girly drink, unlike the more submissive, lighter varieties.  Tonight I tried my first "martini."  I foolishly thought that I should try equal parts dry vermouth and gin, instead of the traditional dash (or drop, or residue!) of wine.  Man, vermouth is strong!  I mean, it's low proof, but the flavor is overwhelming.  Next night I drink I'm going to stick to a more traditional martini portion.

His Peace to You,
Jake
