What actually happened was the potatoes (POTATOES!!! sez Samwise Gamgee) fell to a blight. The British denied the Irish supplies while their only food source (teh spuds) rotted away. Believe me, if you've got a bunch of nasty, fungal, rotting potatoes, nobody is going to want to take them away from you.

Besides, it's silly to hate the British today due to what their great-great-great-great (etc) grandparents did...that would be like saying that everyone on Earth is a sinner because some guy (who probably didn't exist anyway) ate a forbidden apple.

Oh, right...some people DO say that.

What actually happened you Hitler appeasing bastard, is that the potatoes did fall to a blight. The British continued to tax the Irish people, taking away all of the other crops that were being grown in Ireland, (wheat etc.) and took them back to jolly ol England, and then refused to send aid until millions of Irishmen died from starvation, nice genocide you stupid Brit
