This year's presidential elections

I'm sure by now everyone who wants to vote has already registered to vote. Now before either the left or the right starts leaping on my case, let me make myself quite clear that this post is not to endorse/promote one particular candidate... because I'm not. Although I have strong opinions for one and against the other has nothing to do with this post. Basically, the purpose of this post is to at least attempt to place things into perspective. What do I mean by that? I mean that all of us citizens should be properly 'armed,' for lack of a better term, with information and most of all, wisdom. Information about both candidates and the wisdom to know what is right, what is wrong, what is true, and what is a lie.

Candidates can make appealing promises to sugar up the people they are trying to gain votes from... but when it is all said and done, that's all they are: just words. No offense to each men, but for the next four years, all they will probably be doing is cleaning up the mess that this country is in now. I'm sure both men have some good plans for this country and they come from a good heart, but let's face it... as good as those plans are, they probably won't happen.

Never rely on these mudslinging political advertisements, either. Some of these things are true, most of them are just words twisted around to make it sound like one thing when the truth is another. Plus, I think we all know by now that neither men are perfect angels.

So with the majority of these things out of the way, what else should we look for in voting for the right president? The answer is simple, and more obvious than what you think.

Look at the man's character.

That's right, his character. When it's all said and done.... when all Hades breaks loose.... when the lights are out.... when the mics are turned off.... when nobody is watching... how will he handle himself? Being a president of one of the most powerful countries in the world is not a walk in the park, and to be in this position, this man must have a very strong character. it really doesn't matter much what he says, but what he does that really counts. Where is the man's priorities? Does he really have the well being of his people in mind or does he have his own personal agenda? To sum it all up, what America really needs in her next leader is a man that is strong in character and pure in heart. She will need such a man to restore her to her former glory.

I guess what I'm trying to say is when you go to vote for a candidate, make sure you really know who you are voting for. For the sake of your future, the future of your children, as well as the remains of the reputation of this country, be wise in who you choose. The last thing we need is a president that has a meltdown because he does not know what to do, let alone make more wrong choices. If it means that you have to make minor sacrifices in order to have someone that is capable to fix such issues and has the ability to lead this country, then make them. Just because he does not line up with you level of morale or your beliefs, but if he is able to lead this country effectively, then vote for him. Lord knows our ancestors probably had to sacrifice caviar for some beans and rice, and if they can do it, so can we. (and for those that are inquiring, that is a figure of speech. Hopefully you get my drift).

Anyway, I'm off my soapbox. I think I have said enough on this subject matter, as being politically charged is never my cup of tea. Like I said, the only purpose of this is to let folks know to not only vote, but vote wise. The last thing this country really needs is to be down her knees due to an incompetent leader... I think the current administration, both in Capitol Hill AND the White House has proven that point. Don't need to pick up where they will eventually leave off.
