last night
well last night was a success overall, even tho i was disappointed that a couple people didnt turn up (but i dont think they'll read this).
comets were on form, as (bar junktion7) always. went down well with Hungry Audio and AC30 people so looks like a one off record deal is on the cards, i know me and dom sold the comets/the faster i drive split idea pretty hard to them.
DJing was pretty shambolic, tho i was the only person to get people dancing (trusty The Adam Brown). and two of computerman came for a chat after i played Mew.
got around 200 people there + bands, which for a monday night when students have gone home is, as Tom from Cabaret put 'Fuckin Amazin)
got a CD from a band called Censored.
I hate Dj's who think they are worth more than anyone else in a venue. Lucia was as nice and funny as she is/was beautiful. if only she wasnt taken. and 5/6 years old than me. and was blind.
so in a pretty good mood. it sounds pretty selfish and i know its not down to me but im really happy that stuff is working out for Comets. me and Dom put a lot of hard work into getting people comin down and getting them in a good position on the bill, and its good to see that we might have a success on our hands after we failed so miserably to get Lyca Sleep known.
next gig is Jan 27th. be nice to see the few people that bothered to turn up (ste, mandy+2, dan, sam+1, tigers inn, other dan+1 etc) and to read the ever-widening list of excuses people give at the last minute and pretend i care they are goin.
see you at the mill on the 28th of December.
