It's 2008 already. This year will be a big one: Johnny will finish his master's and start on a career; We will move to a semi-permanent location, probably Boulder, CO; Zach will have his first birthday and make dozens of fun development hurdles, like crawling, talking, and walking; and I will turn 21.
The New Year weekend was a blast. We saw Sweeney Todd, which was as dark and wonderful as I expected. Fantastic acting, and surprising singing. Johnny Depp is actually a pretty doggone good crooner. The only big disappointment in the movie was that they let out The Ballad. Sad panda.
New Year's itself was spent at Boulder's Dinner theatre watching "1940s Radio Hour" and dancing until about 1 A.M. We picked up Zach from his sitter and stopped in at a cocktail party (Zach slept in his seat in a safe place).
New Year's Day saw the worst game I've seen the Gators play in quite a while. The defense was *AWFUL* and the Gators made a classless display of dancing on the Michigan logo before the game. Michigan also needs to send a thank-you note to the refs for not calling any of the 10+ personal fouls, such as punches to the face, actual tackles after the whistle, and a player blatantly back-talking the ref for pulling him off a Gator after the whistle. Fun times. But next season promises good things, and I'll always love my Gators.
Last year's resolution was to eat healthier (i.e. more calories). I did ok. I had to eat more just to stay alive while pregnant (which I didn't know at New Years), but I've lost some weight due to breast feeding. I've been better about eating higher calorie foods and taking vitamins, so I feel pretty good about that one.
This years resolution is to learn to dance, particularly ballroom and tap. John has taught me some dances, but I'd really like to get good and become a triple threat. I've worked hard to improve my singing this past year, so getting good at dance will really bump up my repertoire.
I love my husband more than ever and the greatest gift from 2007 was our beautiful baby, Zachary.
Here's to the new year!! Can't wait to see what it will bring.
