So I just saw a group on facebook bashing Che Guevara. Now I have nothing against bashing Senor Che; he wasn't exactly a pleasant human being. What I have a problem with is the so-called righteous indignation of Americans over murder and violence around the world. Americans run around protesting evil doers in countries like Cuba, Iraq, and the Phillippines. People shun those who wear t-shirts sporting faces of various dictators and scoff at those who hate the blatant racism against Muslims in this country.
I find it interesting that a country with military presence in more than 1/3 of countries around the world can be so judgmental. It's even more intruiging that people can scream at others for their beliefs while sporting the flag of a country that murders 1.2 million babies every year.
I realize there are people, possibly even in this group, who hate all the murdering; there are people who don't ignorantly wave the American flag while screeching over evil in the world. But the amount of false patriotism and hypocrisy in this country is sickening.
It's simple misdirection: Point out the sins of others and your own sins will be overlooked.
