Once in the Katahto Mountains, a Golden Dragon leads Lina to the true Clair Bible where she learns about Gaav and what he had done. Meanwhile, Gaav has shown up and Gourry, Xelloss, Amelia and Zelgadis get beaten up trying to fight him. However, after using the Ragna Blade, manages to defeat Gaav, but not for long. He returns as a young village boy reveals his true nature as Hellmaster Phibrizzo. Phibrizzo destroys Gaav and kidnaps Gourry, taking him and forcing Lina and the others to go to Sairaag again.
On their way back to Sairaag, they end up fighting Gourry again, who was being controlled by Phibrizzo. They also meet up with Sylphiel again, who had managed to learn the Dragon Slave, but no other attack spells yet. When they arrive back in Sairaag, they find that the city had been rebuilt and the people were alive again. They find out from Sylphiel's father that it was done by Phibrizzo and they go to the temple in the center of the city in order to fight. They manage to make it inside the temple and to Phibrizzo.
They try to fight him, but find out that they are no match. In order to get Lina to use the Giga Slave, Phibrizzo proceeds to slowly kill off Lina's friends one by one. Lina eventually casts the spell and loses control, only to be possessed by the Lord of Nightmares. The Lord of Nightmares kills Phibrizzo, releasing the townspeople from the spell cast by the Hellmaster. Eventually, with the help of Gourry, Lina was able to regain control of herself.
Personality: Lina isn’t your usual ‘little girl’. She’s very smart and has already graduated from a prestigious magic school at the age of 15 and has since then been traveling around by herself. Lina is a magical genius. She knows almost everything about each of the three branches of magic (White, Black and Shamanism) even though she doesn't use all three. She also knows a lot about the world of mazoku (monsters) and how they think. So she's not surprised if Xelloss tries to betray her. Lina also knows when to use the fact that she's looks like a "little girl" to get what she wants. She'll use that charm on different tavern owners to get out of trouble for destroying their taverns in fights.
She is incredibly greedy and will do anything she can to make some gold or find a rare treasure that she could either use herself or sell for a nice profit. She won't hesitate to haggle with anyone over the price for anything that she has or anything that she wants, sometimes even resorting to violence to get the right price. She won’t hesitate to walk right into a very obvious trap, if it’s baited with a good amount of gold or a rare item, she crawled right into a cage that Amelia had baited with a Unicorn's horn knowing that she would get caught. She doesn’t like doing things that will help people without getting some sort of reward for whatever work she does. She will do almost anything for a high price, though her results might not be the exact thing that she intended, since most of the time she ends up destroying most of the places that she goes. One village found this out the hard way when they hired her to slay a dragon that was tormenting them. She had destroyed over half of the village.
