2005 - A year in review

Dec 31, 2005 17:03

Today is the last day of what has probably been the best year of my life thus far. I think it appropriate that I chronicle the year month by month.

January - I started January by attempting to retrun to school a day early. Ok, I was dumb. It was also during this month that I discovered the phenomenon known as Gluteous Mexicanus, which forces fire out of one's ass. My great uncle died and my dad was informed that the shop he worked in was being sold and he would lose his job. Rugby practice was difficult yet satisfying. Not a great way to start a year.

February - I played the single funnest game of rugby of all time. The field was soggy with mud and rain and we got our asses kicked, but it was amazing. The weather during the month reflected my mood, I was lonely and moping and it wouldn't stop raining. I built robots with good friends and put on the single greatest presentation that our school had ever seen. There was also a funeral in there somewhere too. All in all a negative month.

March - I started March with a rugby victory, way to be. The month progressed well from there. Two fantastic shows, Ska is Dead 2 and the Aquabats, good dancing and good company. My grandmother moved back into our house. I grew a hatred for Pacific Islanders that I still hold. And I took a risk that changed the rest of my life for the better. Jenny and I went on our first real date on March 28th. Spring was coming on and my mood was way up.

April - April was a month full of computer problems, from spyware to shot hardware. On April 4th I kissed Jenny for the first time. Magical. My dad was sad all month and Donald powerbombed me onto a bench.

May - In May I skipped prom for alternate entertainment. I housesat for several neighbors and wished I had a real job. I fogged up the windows of a car for the first time. She told me she loved me for the first time. Life couldn't have gotten better. School ended and I got drunk. Twice. I was totally going to kick the summer's ass.

June - June was me wishing I had a job. I did some charity work with my mom and my dad finally got a new job. Had to be without Jenny for a week while she went to San Francisco but I did spend a magical evening with her before she left. Made lots of new friends at the Willow House and the month ended with the promise of a possible job.

July - July was awesome. From First Friday art walk to a Fourth full of fireworks (cool sentence huh?). Downtown Phoenix saw my penis. My house did almost burn down but I also cuised around in my car and started my job at the pool store. Bad with the good and all that jazz.

August - August was kind of rough between school and work. I didn't get to see much of Jenny, which was a major drag. But we did see the birth of Modest Proposal which was fantastic. Another negative month on the whole though.

September - Henry Rollins, Pennywise, Social D. Jenny. I started reading Steppenwolf and had a few brain explosions. Six wonderful months with Jenny.

October - My favorite month of any year, and this one was especially good. Made a lot of friends at B-Hub's housewarming party. Saw the Dropkick Murphys at the best show ever, and went to Ska is Dead 3 which was killer. Had a pretty good birthday too.

November - New bed, which is the best ever. Weekend in Payson with my favorite girl. And my brother managed to get his ass married, way to go.

December - Slow month. Finished up half of senior year. Had a pretty good Christmas.

Here's to hoping next year is at least half as good as this one.
