IC Information:
Name: Heather Mason
Fandom: Silent Hill 3
Timeline: after the "good" ending (she's defeated God, escaped Silent Hill alive with Douglas, and was living in her apartment alone).
Age: 17
Appearance:

short blonde hair, hazel eyes, freckles. Heather has a very slight build and she is petite and actually very short.
Abilities: While Heather is not full-out psychic, she has slight abilities like knowing things she probably shouldn't and getting inklings about things before they happen. Nothing major. She can also shoot a gun pretty well and handle a blunt object with devastating force when she has the intent to kill.
Personality: Heather is a typical teenager with typical teenage interests such as shopping, clothes, fast food, and mouthing off. This said she is rather snarky and sarcastic, with a temper almost as short as her tongue is sharp. She has a lot of trust issues and has trouble letting people close, and she can be rude, cold, or even downright mean when approached wrong. Heather is very blunt and allows her emotions to rule her quite entirely, but that's not to say she isn't intelligent. She has an uncanny ability to stand her ground when she's afraid, though she has no trouble expressing her terror. While she can be slightly unpleasant from time to time, she's really a sweet girl deep down when she trusts you, and she can be very spunky and amusing and jokes around a lot. Her sense of humor, however, is morbid at its worst, to the point where she once pretended she was going to kill Douglas, her only close friend at the time, as a joke. Aside from that, she's got a very devil-may-care attitude about most things, though it's not clear if it's just a ruse to hide her vulnerability. Heather's a girl of contradictions and a slave to her teenage emotions.
History: Contrary to what some people might be inclined to believe, Heather is not Cheryl Mason, nor is she Alessa Gillespie. Seventeen years ago, Harry Mason's daughter, Cheryl, went missing in the town of Silent Hill. Harry searched for her but to no avail, and learned that a woman named Dahlia had sacrificed her daughter, Alessa, seven years previously, and at that time Alessa's soul split into two parts, one of them becoming Cheryl. When Cheryl entered Silent Hill, she and Alessa's souls merged, and Cheryl ceased to exist. Alessa was chosen to give birth to Silent Hill's God, but Harry killed it, and Dahlia died in the process. Afterward, as Harry was preparing to flee Silent Hill, a dying Alessa handed him a baby who he later named Heather. Heather is not Alessa but rather some version of a reincarnation of who she was as Mother of God, a fully separate person who lived without any memory of how she came to be for seventeen full years.

When Heather is seventeen, a detective named Douglas Cartland is hired by Alessa's childhood friend, Claudia Wolf, to track down Heather, with the lie that she is merely Alessa Gillespie kidnapped by Harry at birth. In spite of the fact that Douglas finds a newspaper article stating that Alessa died in a fire at age 7, he continues to search for Heather, and finds her living in an apartment with Harry. One day, Heather goes to the mall by herself, and Douglas confronts her there, telling her he needs to speak to her about her birth. Probably assuming that it is just her birth parents wanting to meet her, she dismisses him and avoids him completely. While trying to leave the mall through the back employee sections to avoid Douglas, Heather encounters a series of strange monsters, and meets Claudia, who tells her they are there to witness the rebirth of “Paradise”.

On the way home, Heather encounters a strange man named Vincent, who seems to know more about Heather's past than she herself does, as well as about Harry's actions in Silent Hill. Heather becomes convinced that he cannot be trusted and leaves after he makes several cryptic statements about her.

Despite the monsters, Heather kills them and manages to reach home, where she finds her father Harry dead, killed by a monster at Claudia's orders. Claudia tells Heather she will be waiting in Silent Hill, “where it all began”. Douglas appeares shortly after, finding a notebook on Harry's lap which tells the entire truth of Heather's existence. Heather then makes the decision to go to Silent Hill and kill Claudia, and Douglas offers to drive her, though he knew the dangers of being killed as well. While Douglas waits for Heather, Vincent appears and tells them to look for a man named Leonard in Silent Hill. On the drive there, Heather reads the notebook and begins to recover some memories of who she used to be and what she must become.

After they reach the monster-infested Silent Hill, Heather and Douglas split up to find Leonard. In the hospital while she is searching, Heather's reflection becomes Alessa and freezes, and she attempts to trap Heather in the room and drain her life. Heather escapes and goes on to receive a phone call from Leonard, who reveals himself to be Claudia's father and who tells her he is also against Claudia, and that he has a “seal”. Heather searches for him, and when she finds him she learns that she misjudged him; Claudia despites a Paradise where all will be embraced, while he is only against her in the sense that he wants a Paradise where only God's followers will be saved. He has also transformed into a hideous monster. Heather kills him and takes the seal, which turns out to be a talisman with a mysteriously familiar symbol on it.

Heather leaves the hospital and at she and Douglas' hotel she encounters Vincent again, who tells her Douglas has gone to the church across the lake and she must get there through the amusement park. In the park, she finds that Douglas has been wounded by Claudia, and she promises to come back for him later. On the merry-go-round, Heather once again encounters Alessa, who attempts to kill her four times with assorted weapons. Heather fights back and defeats her, and Alessa leaves a message saying that she thought it would have been better for Heather to die more peacefully. As it turns out, Heather has been chosen to carry out the birth of God, just as Alessa was, and has been pregnant with it her entire life. At that point, periodic cramps cripple her and she pushes onward, trying to solve the mystery and find a way to defeat Claudia.

Finally, in the church, Heather is able to confront Claudia head on. Claudia kills Vincent and then turns to Heather, who insists that a god born of hatred can never create a perfect Paradise. She attempts to use the seal on Claudia but to no avail, and starts to go into apparent labor with God. For her birthday when she was younger, Harry gave Heather a locket with a small red tablet inside, and it turns out to be a mysterious substance which she earlier learned is good for protection against demons. She eats the tablet and it causes her to vomit God up onto the floor.

Heather attempts to stomp God (which is at this point a small red fetus-like creature) to death, but Claudia stops her and eats God herself. At this point, Claudia gives birth to God and dies in the process. Heather kills God just as her father did seventeen years before.

Finally, with Claudia dead and the birth of God foiled a second time, Heather escapes Silent Hill with Douglas and goes on to resume her life.

Roleplay Sample - Log: When Heather ventured back to Vincent's room, she expected to be there alone. The only thought in her mind was maybe finding something to help her stop Claudia once and for all, thinking this could be the last time she would be able to venture through the rest of the bizarre church before she went through that door in her-no, Alessa's-room. She had done a quick swoop of the room before, but she had left immediately after finding the cassette tape, feeling it was important and wanting to listen to it as soon as possible. Now, she did a thorough search, rummaging through the desk drawers, checking the bookmarked pages of the many difficult religious books on the bookshelf. She even got down on her hands and knees to check under the bed for anything useful. All that met the beam of her flashlight was a varied menagerie of dust bunnies, but as she was pressing her face farther into the dusty crack, one managed to touch her nose. A powerful high-pitched sneeze burst out without warning.

“Bless you,” said a rather amused voice from behind her, and Heather immediately stood up, whirling around and pointing her handgun straight at the figure in the doorway, her hands shaking. She was rather startled and struggled to keep her breathing steady, but almost immediately she saw there was more cause for embarrassment than alarm. Vincent stood in the doorway with an assortment of books in his arms, and he looked more amused than worried she would shoot him. It made her furious.

“Oh, it's you,” she said with a furious sigh, lowering her gun. “Don't sneak up on me like that! I'll end up shooting you!”

Vincent shook his head. “You would enjoy that.”

Heather's eyes narrowed. “No I wouldn't.” she watched him place the stack of books on top of the bookshelf suspiciously. “What're those?”

“Books from the archives,” he replied, removing his glasses and polishing them. “Standard religious texts. I doubt you would be interested.” replacing his glasses, he gave her a long look. “Do you still have the seal?”

“Yeah,” Heather nodded, patting the pocket of her vest compulsively and feeling the small, reassuring lump there. “It's here.”
Roleplay Sample - Journal: [Heather glares hard] I don't have time to join a Facility or anything. I mean, I've got Gods to kill, plans to foil, monsters to stomp into the ground. Plus, I've heard about these kinda communities. What if Claudia shows up? Ugh! I don't wanna go through what I went through in Silent Hill again. After everything like that, I feel like I deserve some sort of a break in a place that's... you know... not a breeding ground for insanity? But I guess that's way too much to ask, right? Guess I'm not getting what I want.

This game includes horrible mental and physical torture of your character. After reading the rules/faq for clarification, how do you expect your character to handle this and continue to function?
Oh, Heather will not be happy, but she'll handle it well. She can keep her head in horrible situations and she is pretty good at dealing with the sort of stress that the kind of experiments the Facility does causes. She's pretty good at staying sane and not losing her cool... usually, anyway.

Questions? Comments? Crazed and creative statements? Those go here.
I know this comm has an Alessa (we're like... buddies OOC x3), but I hope you guys'll give Heather a chance here because her and Alessa are not by any means the same person or the same character, and they actually interact in canon so I think it might be interesting to see how they play off each other here. I know it might be kind of weird but I really hope this will work out.
