At this point, I have watched four of this season's dramas.
Sunao ni narenakute: This seems to be the most talked-about drama this season? I really could care less about the whole Twitter aspect though, lol. I've seen the first two episodes, and man, Ueno Juri and Eita totally make this drama. They have great chemistry and they're fun to watch. All of the characters are lovable in their own ways though, I think. Especially Jaejoong's character because he's so pretty. It's kinda...angsty though? Like, everyone has all of these ~issues~ that are going to have to be resolved somehow, and will probably end up affecting other characters. I don't think it's gonna be too heavy though. Maybe. We'll see.
Kaibutsu-kun: Well, I'm writing this to a flist of mostly Arashi fans, lol, so I'm sure a lot of you have seen the first ep by now. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, and yeah, it's cheesy and predictable, but it's so cute. As much as I want Ohno to get another serious Maou-type role someday, he was so made for this kind of role, haha. The kids are cute too, and yeah, I think I'm going to enjoy this drama. Also, was anyone else totally lol'ing at the random insert song sung by Ohno? Did not see that one coming.
Shinzanmono: A bit disappointed by this one, actually. Starring Abe Hiroshi, and also has Kuroki Meisa, Mizobata Junpei, and Mukai Osamu, so lots of people I like. It's a cop drama, and idk, maybe I was spoiled by the amazingness that is Tokyo Dogs, but I didn't think this one was that great. It's kind of one of those predictable ones where he's a genius and you know he's going to figure everything out in the end, kind of things. The first episode's plot was kind of weird too. Like, at the end, I was like, um...that's it? That's all we get? But there are still a lot of questions and characters that we don't know how they tie in, so maybe it'll get better. I'll probably keep watching.
Yankee-kun to Megane-chan: Okay, I know it's not subbed yet, but seriously, you guys NEED to watch this drama. Because for one thing, um, Narimiya Hiroki. If that's not enough to convince you even though it really should be, it's also pretty funny. Nari's character is a high schooler (yes, I know) yankee who is ~tragically misunderstood~ by those around him. The main girl (Naka-something Risa?) is apparently the studious, hardworking, overly enthusiastic type, but she can't leave him alone and tries to get him to mend his ways. But we soon find out that she's a former yankee, so of course she ~understands~ him. She's also pretty psycho, and Nari's character is pretty whiny and angry, which makes for lots of lulz. I think I am really going to enjoy this drama.
Also, has anyone watched Tumbling yet? I dl'ed the first ep but I'm not really sure if I want to watch it yet. I'm afraid it's going to be stupid.
In other news!
So yeah, I just watched this week's Himitsu, and whoever thought of the concept for this episode was brilliant! It was so great! It was fun to see them all shopping, and man, you can see their different personalities come out in how they shop. Like Ohno going into the Coleman store, and Nino spending most of his time lounging around and bugging everyone else, lol. But man, I think when Sho said that he chose his outfit because he wanted people to think that it was something that Aiba would wear...best thing EVER. Oh Sakuraiba~ Even though Aiba seemed kind of scandalized by the idea, haha. But hey, his strategy worked in the end, lol. And also, so many lulz at Jun catching Ohno in the act of stealing half of his outfit from a mannequin. Originality fail, and Jun was not going to let Ohno live that down. And speaking of Ohno, haha, buying that random fish thing just because the guy at the store had it there especially for him, and then putting the fish in his pocket to deceive others into thinking it was a heart. Ohno, I love you. But yeah, Jun...what were you thinking. -_-;; I love you, but wowwww, NO. SO. UGLY. XD;; Like...the weird jacket? The GREEN POLKA DOT BOWTIE?? For a date? Really? Haha, no wonder he got so few votes. Also, I really really liked Aiba's shirts, but lol at him wearing girls' capris. Also, not a fan of the red shoes. They make me think of Ronald McDonald. Nino's outfit was...okay. He's done better. But man, it cracks me up how Arashi, like, rolls around on the ground when they're either really happy (like Sho and Aiba) or really upset, haha. And it made me happy that Sho got second place! He deserved it, even though everyone was like EHHHHHH?! XD I believe in you, Sho~ ♥
Also, I watched Kat-tun perform Going on Music Station, and um. Not a fan. They need to stop with the auto tune, like, yesterday. -_-;; And the song itself...just not good. I didn't like it at all. I don't understand why they're trying to do sad imitations of American-styled music, because it's really not working for them. Go back to doing awesome rock songs, please. Like Yorokobi no Uta, or Moon, from the Break the Records album. Or at least more hip-hop type music, because they do that pretty well too. But not this stuff they've been doing lately.
