So since
areea_chan asked for it, I'm going to expand on my Twitter flailing and post about the Countdown~ I know I'm late watching it, but I was out on New Year's Eve, and then just when I got it dl'ed the HQ version came out so I was like "screw LQ" and deleted that and started over, haha. So I just watched it today~
I watch the Countdown every year, and this is probably one of my favorites. I forgot how much fun it is to have everyone in JE (well, almost everyone, anyway) all in one place (...ish? XD;;). There was so much ultimate win, I cannot even believe it. Especially the groups that look like they're having the most fun, aka Arashi, Kanjani, and Tokio, I think. I would've liked to see NEWS be more spastic (as I know they can be), but oh well~ I guess Koyama didn't get enough screen time or something, haha. NYC Boys/HSJ did not look all that excited to be there, except maybe for Hikaru, haha. But the rest just looked bleh. Kisumai and ABC-Z looked like they were having an awesome time, as usual. I love them so much~ It was cool to see them play a somewhat main role, backdancing for T&T. I sorta thought it was too bad that Ryo-chan ended up separate from NEWS, but I guess it can't be helped. It was actually kind of funny to see him singing along with the rest of NEWS, even though he was not even with them, haha. And watching the rest of Kanjani be all spastic around him. XD
Ahhhh, but most of them looked really good~ Although I could NOT for the life of me figure out what was going on with Ueda's hair. Did he have a ponytail on the top of his head or something?? idek. And Yamapi looked good, but TOO MUCH GEL. It looked like it was wet. >_> Aiba's hair looked...poofy, haha. Like it didn't really get styled. But Arashi all generally looked amazing, as usual, and so did Koyama, and Toma, and etc.
I have to say that I was REALLY EXCITED that Arashi opened the show with Believe. I have been loving all these end-of-year shows because Arashi has been performing Believe on like ~all of them~ and Believe is pretty much my favorite Arashi song and it has awesome choreography and I never, ever get tired of it. ♥ And then it was really fun how they had all the groups do their debut songs. I thought it was interesting that NEWS did NEWS Nippon. I was expecting it to be Kibou ~yell~, since that was their official debut, but I guess they made up for it by Kat-tun doing it later? lol. And well, I like NEWS Nippon better anyway~ It was my favorite NEWS song for a long time, back in the day. I totally thought that T&T's debut song was Yume Monogatari, but apparently it's Sotsugyou, haha. Shows how much I know. And when Kat-tun performed Real Face, it reminded me how much I like that song~ And then it cracked me up when Arashi, who was obviously being saved for last, stared singing A-RA-SHI. The screaming was SO MUCH LOUDER for them, haha. Also, I don't remember what part of the show it was (maybe Music For The People?), but I was amused that all of V6, who are older than Arashi, could backflip. Sho and Jun are slackers, I say! But wow, Aiba was SUPER HIGH TENSION for most of the show. I love that about him~ ♥ Of course, so was Jun, haha, but he does less flailing around and more grinning like an idiot and poking at everyone, which is SO CUTE and I love how it's so different from the image most people seem to have of him.
So Arashi should ALWAYS HOST because it's so fun to watch them do it, and they're all so good at it! Even Ohno was doing quite well~ It's always fun to watch them interact with people who they don't usually. Like, it sorta weirded me out, seeing Aiba talk to Massu and even call him Massu, haha. But of course, the best part of the show is seeing groups mix who don't normally, especially getting to see people who we know are friends together. Like when Matsujun, Yamapi and Jin all together, and as everyone already noted, Jin poking Jun in the cheek, haha. But I liked it even better when it cut back to them later when they were walking away and you can see Jun being all like WHAT THE HECK at Jin, haha. Adorable~ Plus getting to see Tomapi on stage together~ ♥ And I know I'm mostly talking about the younger groups, but watching Tokio and V6 was fun too. Nagase and Taichi are pretty much amazing. They crack me up. Was it last year that Nagase kissed...was it Koichi, at midnight? XD
But the best part of the show was definitely the crack, which pretty much always involved Kanjani in some way, as per usual. XD Arashi performing Sukiyanen, Osaka was ADORABLE. Even using the mic stands with those ridiculous sun things on them. XD And doing the ridiculous high tension dance, and of course the best part was at the end when Ohno was supposed to say "Sukiyanen" but instead he said "Suki dayo, hontou ni suki dayo!" or something along those lines, and then Jun CRACKED UP. (And so did Nino, or so I'm told, but I didn't notice.) I love how much Jun loves Riida~ And then when they switched over to Kanjani and they sang One Love. IN THEIR EITO RANGER OUTFITS. Omg, I did not see that coming. XD So ridiculous! Although in that song and again later, it seemed like they were slightly out of sync with the music? Probably a technical issue. Oh well~ And then later when Kanjani sang something else and they were in ninja outfits randomly, oh gosh. XD I was like, WHAT IS GOING ON, I DO NOT EVEN KNOW. So awesome.
...So yeah, I think that's quite enough of that. XD I hope you will all flail with me in the comments!
