BACK FROM NEW YORK!
i am utterly in love with that town.
wednesday--
we were supposed to leave the airport around 1:45, but our flight was SUPER delayed due to inclement weather. (i always feel so cool when i say that. haha.) ANYWAY! long story short-- we got to new york around 9:45. rainy, but lovely.
thursday--
we're randomly walking down 41st street, i think, and my mom starts talking to this location manager for some tv show, and it turns out queer eye was shooting there. haha. SO, the guy tells us to come later in the day and be part of the audience for the "queer eye for the straight guy: straight guy pageant!" SO GUESS WHO MET THE FAB 5, MISS UNIVERSE, AND SUSAN LUCCI?! life is good.
haha later that night, we went to go see spelling bee at the circle in the square, and it was great. i didn't really know the show before, but i loveloveloved it.
friday--
woke up and took the subway down to greenwich village, which is one of my favorite places of town. went to nyu, got a sweatshirt because it was surprisingly chilly, and i think i saw ariel joder? haha wow. lots of red-haired people in that city. AND I SAW ERICA'S SCHOOL! luckyface who's moving to new york in a few months.
that night, we went to go see hairspray because my sisters were the only people in my family who hadn't seen it. i love that show so much. it always makes me happy. BUT BEFORE WE WENT TO THE SHOW-- GUESS WHO SAW SUTTON FOSTER WALKING UP TO THE MARQUIS FOR THE DROWSY CHAPERONE?! haha i have the BIGGEST crush on her. it's not even funny.
saturday--
we went to central park and walked around there for a while. then mass at st. patrick's, which is BEAUTIFUL. then soho. then little italy. FOOD. then home.
we flew out today. i had lots of fun. i'm glad to be home, but i still had lots of funfunfun.
i thought of lots of people on the trip. i thought of liz because the show next to our hotel was lestat. oh, gretchen. haha. i thought of ashley because we passed bubba gump's 380408745 times. BUDWEISER COASTERS! i thought of erica when we passed the new school, which is where she'll be this coming fall. schmargle you for going to big kids' school. i thought of laura because those day lilies that she always stole from that woman's house across from NOCCA were everywhere. and because everything at nyu is purple. haha. et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
ps. i want to BE leaf coneybear. i've decided i will one of these days.
pps. i can't remember her name, but the liberal speller (logainne? or something like that.) said this line that made me giggle. "president bush this week said the gay marriage ban is to protect america from the threat of same-sex marriages. so my daddy said to tell them to raise the terror level to every color they can because WE ARE COMING!"
again, i'm in love.
