[Compile] Aizawa, L, Matsuda, Light

To find a relative genius, all that it took was to know their quirk and make use of it. L had observed this before, with two protégés that had unique penchants for particular things. To seek them out, one had not needed so much to search as to know where there was chocolate or where the most complex puzzle had been stored. Their arrival would be an invariably conclusion, without the exertion of time and resources to search them out.

For L, the similar method could apply. Brilliant though his mind and deductive capabilities were, he was victim to his own quirks. That had led him first to the cafeteria of the university's main campus, where their stock of pastries became sorely depleted by the time that he left, paper bag dangling from his hand.

Delayed by the strategic supply run, L was second to arrive, slowing when he noted Aizawa craning his head about. L stopped some feet away, rummaging through the paper bag to retrieve a danish between his thumb and index finger. "The others will arrive at due times," he remarked, lifting the pastry to his mouth to nibble at its edge. "Each time is staggered to not draw attention."

This, in retrospect, seemed even more sound than the theory, as Aizawa appeared to be bleeding and flustered. L nodded once to himself, approving of his decision to request each investigative team member to arrive within a specific timeframe and not draw attention with a group arrival. This allowed leeway for such strange occurances as what he saw before him.

For once in his career - perhaps even his whole life, even - Matsuda was running on time. He had woken up before his alarm due to some glass bottles being thrown in the alley next to his apartment; Matsuda really needed to move. Living in the "bad part" of town was dangerous, but it was also cheap. But hadn't he been doing all that over time so he could pay a larger rent in a new apartment...?

Anyway. He had taken a shower and then gotten dressed, and miraculously hadn't collided with someone or seen someone he knew. Nor had the shop owners called out greetings to him, because it was their morning rush and they needed to attend to customers instead of a late member of the police force. In such a good mood was Matsuda that he had bought himself some cinnamon pretzel sticks. He /never/ had cinnamon pretzel sticks. It was a rare treat, to be sure.

Trotting onto the campus with a stick in his mouth, Matsuda looked very much like the college students that were mingling about. Were he not in his suit, he was positive he would be able to walk around and spy on students, and no one would be the wiser. Of course, he wouldn't do that since he had no reason to, but it was a thought. Taking a bite out of his pretzel stick, chewing, and then swallowing, Matsuda looked around for his co-workers.

Being that he worked with... unique people, to say the least, it wasn't that hard to find them. Aizawa-san was on a bench with a band-aid on his forehead, and Ryuuzaki-san was standing by him eating a pastry in his usual odd way. Carrying his half-full box of warm sticks, cinnamon sugar lightly coating his lips as he stuck another one in his mouth, he walked over there.

"Hey! 'm not late, 'ight? Horry!" Matsuda exclaimed, pretzel bobbing as he talked. Rubbing his neck sheepishly, it was then that he noticed the band-aid on Aizawa-san was covering a still-bleeding wound. Eyes widdening, he tilted his head and peered at Aizawa's wound. "'ho! 'at 'app'n'd?" he asked, eating the rest of the stick and chewing on it.

Something very odd was going on, Light decided.

Moving about his Chemistry lab, Light had by chance seen an awkward-looking man standing outside in a suit, only to be joined by 'Ryuuga', the one who was calling himself L moments later. And now that other guy was there, too; one who Light knew to be an investigator whom his father had brought home before. Matsuda, it was...?

Quickly and efficently moving about the classroom, Light cleaned up his workspace, wrapping up the rest of the zinc oxide, one eye on the odd threesome outside, as he debated 'casually running into them' at change of class.

Interesting. What could they be doing here...?

Light rinsed and dried his cruicible, setting it aside as he made up his mind. He would go see them. At the very least, it would prove entertaining to an otherwise mediocre, humdrum day.

Aizawa squawked as L suddenly spoke up, the teenager's presence taking him by surprise. "Ryuuzaki!" he exclaimed, trying to regain his composure. "Don't sneak up on a guy like that!" With Kira on the loose, everyone's nerves were on edge, and Aizawa didn't take kindly to being surprised.

"Good idea, though," he continued, pressing the bandaid back onto his forehead. "Staggering the times." Why he made such an inane comment, he didn't quite know; probbly just to have something to say. The teenage detective made him nervous. He was so young, so brilliant....and so detached. There was something not quite right about the sweet-loving young man. Something not quite human.

Then again, L wasn't the only one who wasn't quite human, Aizawa decided, watching Matsuda trot over with a cinnamon pretzel stuffed into his mouth. The young police officer was more puppy than person. It'd be cute if he didn't have to work with it.

"Don't talk with your mouth full," Aizawa snapped at the young man, feeling like an old grandmother. "I can't understand a word you're saying."
