After a pause from reading good literature, I have kind of gone back to it. Thanks go to Jill for giving me a couple of books, one of which (Rabbit is Rich) really has inspired me to keep going with reading.
Last week, I finished "Rabbit at Rest" and today I finished the epilogue to the series, "Rabbit Remembered." I genuinely loved Rabbit Redux, Rabbit is Rich, Rabbit at Rest and Rabbit Remembered. "Rabbit, Run" I struggled with, and I still haven't been able to figure out why.
I had read that "Rabbit Remembered" featured a discussion among some of the characters about the movie American Beauty, so when I placed Remembered on hold at the library, I also placed American Beauty on hold.
I'm not a movie watcher, so there's a huge list of movies that you would assume somebody my age has seen that I actually never bothered watching. American Beauty is on that list. Or, it was until tonight.
(I know it's like 11 years too late for this - but what a shockingly well-done movie!)
