I am now willing to admit that a laundromat has its uses. We are not best friends forever or anything like that, but they can get you out of a stinky spot. In this case, a complaining washing machine and a half washed set of nappies. I'm still not completely sure of the use of a dryer, apart from igniting your home while you sleep. But a ten kilo washer at 7pm on a saturday isn't completely bad.
And on a more interesting topic. One of the local libraries has decided to do old book sales every two months. We went to one this morning, and apart from nearly being crushed by a hoard of book mad people in tweed, bargains were enjoyed by all. The only real issue I had with it, apart from having to really be careful with Mr E, was that the library staff, in their infinite wisdom, decided to make use of a tiny corridor to set up the books for sale, and the net result was that it was hot, cramped, and very `friendly' with the tweed wearers next to you. For those who have ever been to the computer swap meets that use to run in Newcastle basketball stadium in summer, well, a bit like that, but the people were better washed.
