The mail crew normally delivered things to the house during daylight hours under the assumption that the daylight would keep them safe from the house's inhabitants. However, today events conspired against them and the mail wasn't sorted and delivered until well after sunset. The mail crew drew straws in trepidation, but luckily for them the house was empty.
