Letters Home: Said the Joker to the Thief

Apr 01, 2009 11:18

Chatting with Alice was an all too pleasant distraction and kept Thomas from dwelling on Lara's little request. Still, when Alice bounded away, no doubt to pleasantly brute force her way onto some other poor unsuspecting soul, Thomas left the couch and went over to the computers, sitting down at one and opening his email again. He muttered an apology to Alice, just in case, and mulled over his possibilities. The fact that he wasn't going to kneel to Lara's demands was unchanged, but she wasn't the type to give up. He'd cross that particular bridge when he came to it, but reasoned that this was precisely the sort of situation where talking or asking for help was going to be safe, and having nigh indestructible vampires at his back was the sort of thing Lara could appreciate. That particular bit of Alice's advice he could take without reservation and responded to his own sister.

Lara -

You want me to seduce a vampire/incubus of unknown power in order to determine whether his kind can be controlled like your relationship with our father.

You want me to voluntarily put myself in a position in which I could become enslaved by an older vampire whose strength I suspect rivals that of yourself and our father put together.

You want me to do this out of the goodness of my heart ‘for the family’ after you’ve deign to have me disowned under pain of death.

Big sister, I only have one thing to say to you, and I mean it with every fiber of my being:
Go fuck yourself.

Thomas
