It's a wonder how I left my journal at home over the Christmas holidays. My uncle was kind enough to send it back to me, so I do hope I didn't miss much of your stupidity, Hogwarts.
It amazes me how stupidly naive first years are. They truly believe that the giant squid in the lake eats those who aren't careful and invade its depths. Really. Squid primarily eat deep-sea fish and other squid species not in its own category. It's not like it's Cthulhu from Lovecraft's fine works, or the Kraken of Norse sagas and Scandinavian folklore.
I should wish the teams good luck in this week's game. I've never had a fondness for Quidditch myself, but I suppose can see the charm in being chased by heavy balls while searching for a little flying ball the size of a gnat.
