Where in Hebe makes a wonderful discovery

Hey! I wasn't as invisible as I thought! <3 I love comic books.  Apparently I appear in the Spiderman Comics and get hooked up with Peter Parker for a few pages.   Cool.

There's a man who's also a spider? Why would you ever be with that?

No no no, Spiderman has the 'abilities' of a spider. He looks like a normal human.

Well, I guess its nice for those who are into spinning webs out of their bottoms.

I also should apologize for earlier this week. I really wasn't myself that day, and I treated you with a lot of skepticism. My fault.

No no! Its perfectly alright, I understand. I mean, you did just get transplanted to a very strange land, with people saying all sorts of things about you.

Who's he?

Spiderman? He's kinda like a 'hero' to modern people, sorta functions like our demi-gods.

Oh? Who's he the son of then?

He's raised by an aunt and uncle, no one special on their own, and admittedly I haven't delved too much into his stories to find out much about his parents. His was more...accidental transfer of powers then by birth. I can lend you some of my copies if you're interested.

Sometimes being invisible is better.

Admittedly, I have found it useful. Keeps me out of the rampaging politics back home that's for sure. Its just nice to know that I haven't been completely been wiped from the annuals of history.

Rampaging politics--I can relate. I think.

I believe you can understand. Its kinda an issue of keep your head down and no one will make you pick sides...

Why did you think you were invisible?

Spiderman? Is he the guy on people's backpacks?

Well, maybe not invisible, just not really noticed. I'm very much a background person.

And yes! A lot of kids seem to like him and look up to him!

There's nothing wrong with that. I don't think, at least.

He seems pretty cool. I mean, I don't know anybody who can stick to the ceiling.

I certainly hope no one has been foolish enough to do something like that with me.

Hebe, can you explain to me precisely the appeal of humans fictionalizing us as such? I'm afraid I don't understand it.

You know, I asked someone about that once while I was working at the diner (we had a lot of collage students), and his theory was it was the modern mortals version of our stories. Maybe a little bit more made up, but along the same lines. I dunno, he could have been wrong.

And...well, they have. You're a little bit more well known. XD

Oh, well, I suppose it does make some sense. Although I would much rather them have dedicated themselves to traditional worship rather than... comic books.

I'm afraid to ask in what terms I would qualify as "well known," Hebe.

People don't go 'huh?' when your name is mentioned.
