I just donated to the Obama campaign. I highly urge you to do as well. They are trying to get a big funding surge by the end of this week as they'll be dedicating this last chunk of money to campaign in vital states. One of Obama's biggest advantages is the amount of money he has access to, and his networking, especially online. Even if you can ( Read more... )

So is McCain a totally different person and less corrupt than Bush? I mean that is guilt by association as well isn't it?

To me it isn't guilt by association, its more a case of "Birds of a feather". And Obama and Blagojevich have helped and supported each other in the past, so no its not an unfounded fear.

To me the president is just a different path in the same direction. Sure there will be differences, but the destination will always be the same. Doing whatever the upper 5% of the country want in one way or another.

And no, the world would not be the same place if Gore had won, but Gore DIDN'T win because exactly the things I talked about. Gore went against the flow, Obama is going with the flow. Even if Gore had won, it would have been a case where the establishment would have made him so impotent he would have been a failed 1 term president.

And no, Clinton wasn't hip deep in Oil money, but he was hip deep in almost every other kind of money and basically "sold" his power to anyone who could afford it.

And honestly, my vote doesn't matter in Illinois. The way the presidential elections work, when you vote, you aren't actually voting for who the president is going to be. You are voting for who your states Electorial College votes for in the "real" election that happens in January (feel free to look it up). Since Obama already has Illinois in the bag, it doesn't matter.

Obama has our 22 Electorial Votes already due to his Chicago ties. Even if the rest of the state votes for McCain, as long as he has Chicago, he'll get the state.

But in any case, I guess we can just agree to disagree on this one.
