Mar 13, 2006 19:42

Camulus was once again growly. Then again, he was usually growly. He had refused to cook, but that meant that he had been Orlined into cleaning his apartment, setting the table, and doing the dishes afterwards ( Read more... )

Orlin was bouncing aroun, being his normal exuberant self, stopping every now and then to mollify Camulus with a quick kiss, as he got everything else ready.

And now to wait for the guests to arrive...

Edmund had waited for Ivanova to meet him at the store and walked with her to the Mauvais Chance apartments. Pity for him and his hosts that the chocolates had worn off, but Ivanova's presence tended to tone his general misanthropy down to something somewhat tolerable.

He knocked and waited for this little adventure to commence.

Camulus opened the door to his visitors, stepping bad and trying not to look as grumpy as he felt. "Mr. Blackadder, Miss Ivanova, please come in. It's good to see you again, Miss Ivanova."

"Yes!" Orlin said, as he bounced over to the door. "welcome! Good to see you."

Scathadh also trotted up to say hello. She mewed up at the visitors her greetings.

"Hello, Professor Camulus, Orlin, and adorable little kitty," Ivanova cooed, crouching down to stroke the cat.

"Dinner is almost ready, so, here, have a brownie to tide you over for a bit." Orlin said, indicating brownies on the coffee table. His special brownies.

Edmund looked at the cat and refrained from sneering. The words Mr. and Frisky might have sprung to mind.

"I am Edmund Blackadder," he said to introduce himself to Camulus. "And you are Miss Ivanova's professor?"

He didn't take the invitation to have a brownie yet, but he was eying them curiously.

"I am a professor at the school and Miss Ivanova was kind enough to speak in my class one day. I have never had the pleasure of having her in my class, however because the mun really couldn't take it without esploding. And please, Miss Ivanova, just call me Camulus."

Ivanova nodded. "Then please drop the 'miss', it gives me the shivers." She eyed the brownies as well, but held up a hand. "No thanks. I gained a little weight while I was laid up. I'm avoiding sweets for a while."

Introductions made, Edmund took a brownie and had a bite. "Delicious." He had another bite. And another.

"Thank you for having me. This is my first social visit since coming to Fandom." See, he remembered his manners. For now.

"No problem, we are glad to have you." Orlin said pleasantly. "Right Camulus?"

Csmulus winced ever so slightly as Orlin's elbow connected with hid ribs. Oh yes, Orlin would be punished later.

"Yes, welcome." He grumbled, looking sulky grumpy.

Scathadh looked at Edmund and snorted. He obviously wasn't important enough for her to pay attention to. So she turned her attention to Ivonava.

Ivanova was not usually a pet person. But squee, kitty. Adorable little kitty. But picking up the 'old married couple in need of counselling' vibe, she felt that this was going to be a very tense meal.

"What were those rather unusual parts for, Orlin?" Edmund asked as he picked up another brownie. "And did they meet your needs?"

Dinner had better be along soon, he was running out of small talk quickly.

Orlin glanced at Camulus, and nodded, "They were exactly what I needed, I couldn't do any repairs with out those peices."

Something pinged in the kitchen.

"Dinner is ready." Orlin called, as he ran for the stove.

Well, that was a relief. The kitten had wandered off and it was growing steadily more uncomfortable. She pulled a small piece off the brownie, and sniffed it. Hmm. Seems that her pals Jay and Silent Bob had a hand in the making of them. Still, one little bite wouldn't hurt.

Tonks.

Dammit, have to stop that.
