The Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade

I'm looking forward to the Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade next month in Los Angeles, as not only will it be a terrific fantasy convention and masquerade ball, but it will be the first time in over twenty years that I will be in full costume and makeup. I'll be assuming the role of Lord Jherek Carnelian, Goblin Prince and ambassador from the court of Queen Vivienne Underhill, the Clockwork Empress and Ruler of Svartalfheim and the Lands Beneath. These characters are from my own fantasy universe; the former is a minor character I created for the Masquerade while Queen Vivienne is a supporting character from The Wasteland, a fantasy series that I have proposed as either a comic book or a television series, depending on who is interested in the project.
The costume for Lord Carnelian was a challenge for me to assemble: I purchased a Victorian frock coat in chocolate brown and gold embroidered vest from a friend of mine who works at a costume shop while the trousers are just a matching pair of good quality corduroy pants. The shoes are black leather which have a pair of white spats to give them that proper Victorian look and I have a fake cravat which secures with velcro, worn over a long-sleeved white shirt while a brass pocket watch on a chain completes the ensemble.
The makeup is fairly simple: I'm using a brick-red base with proper highlights and shadows as well as latex pointed ears and a false nose with a blond 'heavy metal rocker' wig, and for the Masquerade will be wearing an elaborate Venetian carnival mask. I'll probably be wearing the latex appliances only for Saturday, as they are a bit difficult to put on without help. I should have pictures of the costume for you sometime next month!
