Physical Description: The Queen of Form and Substance, Bloodrose is believed to be one of the most beautiful and seductive nobles of the Goblin Folk. Of mixed Sidhe and Goblin ancestry, Bloodrose stands just over six feet in height and is muscular and athletic in build with a flawless golden-tanned complexion, a leonine mane of bright reddish-copper hair with metallic red, bronze, and copper highlights that hangs past her slim waist, a shapely and buxom figure, and the beautiful features of a Pagan goddess. Although Queen Bloodrose could disguise herself as human, her eyes are a brilliant emerald-green and do not have any visible whites like those of a cat and are almost too large for a human face while her delicate pointed ears and sharp fangs mark Bloodrose as one of the Goblin Folk.
Among her titles is the Queen of Autumn, and this is reflected in the fact that Bloodrose always wears the colors of her season--brown, russet, dark green, gold, and orange. Her signature garment is the Cloak of Many Colors, an enchanted cloak crafted from a number of diamond-shaped patches of different fabrics and colors that appears to constantly be moved by unseen winds while the diamond patterns of the cloak shift and change, often breaking away from the garment and swirling around her like autumn leaves. Bloodrose prefers to wear the elaborate garments of medieval nobility decorated with gold and precious gems, and her charm bracelets are actually magical devices which store spells and enchantments, allowing Bloodrose to call upon them without the need for gestures or incantations.

Biography: Queen Bloodrose is possibly the most powerful sorceress in Dark Faerie and rules the Shadowlands, a Faerie Realm of eternal twilight where the Sun and Moon are forever hidden by clouds. The daughter of a Sidhe prince and a Goblin princess, she grew up during the peaceful reign of the Willow King, but when Princess Bloodrose was a small child her father was slain in battle by an alliance of Jewel Lords while Bloodrose and her mother were forced into exile. Trained in the art of sorcery by Lord Gyre, Bloodrose displayed a talent for alchemy and transformation magic from an early age, and as she grew into adolescence became one of the most beautiful of the Goblin Folk.
Unfortunately, Bloodrose was one of the few surviving relatives of the Willow King and was a constant target for kidnapping and assassination by the Jewel Lords, who were constantly fighting among themselves for the crown of the Shadowlands; during one attempt to capture her by the agents of Lord Serpentine, Bloodrose was rescued by Sir Spindle, a brave and valiant knight of the Unseelie Court as well as a former vassal to the Willow King.
Within the princess Sir Spindle saw a means to end the wars between the Jewel Lords, and swearing fealty to her promised to help Bloodrose win the throne of the Shadowlands. After a number of adventures, Sir Spindle followed the Princess into the Heart of Faerie on a quest for the Cavern of the Gorgon Sisters, where she acquired their tears and venom; from these ingredients she created an alchemical elixir which transformed Lord Bloodstone, Lord Carnelian and their armies into stone statues, trapping them both body and soul for all eternity within the Garden of Forever.
Returning to the Shadowlands, Princess Bloodrose assembled an army of Goblin Folk and conquered the Jewel Lords, forcing them to swear fealty to her as their queen; however, Queen Bloodrose became obsessed with conquest and domination, and with the goal of establishing an empire dispatched her armies to conquer all the kingdoms of Dark Faerie. Since that time, Queen Bloodrose has grown in knowledge and power to become the most feared and respected ruler of the Unseelie Court, and only a handful of Faerie Lords would dare oppose her. Recently, Queen Bloodrose has developed a fascination with the Mortal Realm and is searching for the means by which the ancient portals between Earth and Faerie could once more be opened, as she believes that the conquest of the Mortal Realm would give her the power to seize control of Faerie and make her the ruler of both worlds...

Personality: Queen Bloodrose is one of the most brilliant, clever, and resourceful nobles in Faerie, and is on an eternal quest for both knowledge and power. Obsessed with alchemy and transmutation, she is known as the Queen of Form and Substance, and is capable of transforming matter and energy into almost any shape or form, giving her almost godlike power; the only limit to her power is the limits of her knowledge, and to this end is constantly seeking the secrets of magic and alchemy. Few realize that Bloodrose is gradually ascending toward godhood, and to this end has bound herself to the Fount of Creation at the Heart of Faerie.
Unlike other Faerie Folk, Queen Bloodrose will instantly be reborn within the Fount of Creation with her memories, powers, and personality intact if she is slain, but little does she realize that there is a price for her immortality: each time Bloodrose dies, a part of what some would call her mortal self dies as well, making her more of a goddess and less of a person.
Although stubborn and self-centered, Bloodrose loves the people of the Shadowlands and believes that whatever she does for them is in their best interests. Unfortunately, Queen Bloodrose views mortals as either pawns to be used against her opponents, toys for her amusement, or raw material for her magical experiments--and since heroes like Sam Smith seldom fit into any of these categories, Bloodrose simply prefers to eliminate them so that they cannot interfere with her plans for conquest.
Mercurial in temperament, Bloodrose is known for her iron will, nerves of steel, and inflexible nature, but is also subject to the violent emotional outbursts common to the Goblin Folk. Her rage and passion are the stuff of legends, and when Bloodrose is experiencing a storm of violent emotions her subjects will run away and hide until she returns to normal. Bloodrose prefers to wear the mask of the charming, polite, and well-mannered sovereign who is the very essence of manners and etiquette, and seldom reveals her true nature to outsiders, having grown up in the Unseelie Court among the Jewel Lords where the wrong word placed in the right ear can be just as deadly as a knife in the heart--and results in a much longer and more painful demise. As an alchemist, artificer, and sorceress, Queen Bloodrose has a surprising number of enchantments and magical devices at her disposal, most of which take the form of small amulets and talismans worn on her charm bracelets, granting Queen Bloodrose the ability to invoke the spells within them with a touch and a word of power. These amulets and talismans also allow her to summon powerful magical constructs such as golems and automatons as well as a small army of elementals, spirits, and supernatural creatures whom she has bound to her will, and is rumored to have at least one greater dragon under her command, and only the other Queens of the Four Seasons have the slightest chance of opposing her.
