random updates and a horrible thing

I'm alive and well.

Life in Texas is pretty good. I miss all my friends and family in California, but, other than that, I'm fine out here.

I have a much better job than I could have gotten in Santa Maria. I work at Tangoe where I copypasta all day long. The fulfillment teams for carriers are about 15% of the people in the office and my team--Verizon-- is the largest. There are ten of us: one boss, one email sorter / follow up person (Eric), six order placers and two order completers (I'm one of them). All I do all day is go through incoming completion emails and copypasta the phone and shipping inf into our order system and mark the order as complete. I make almost three times as I did as Domino's. :)

I've been writing some music, but not much Empty Horizons 02 and Nein 02). One of my coworkers--Ben--is really into the whole steampunk scene (he knows the guys from Abney Park etc) and we were joking about doing some clockhop (clockpunk hiphop), he didn't know I was serious or how good I was, though. But, when he heard the minute long demo I did in one night he was rather impressed. He wants me to write the background music for his steampunk shanty music band. \m/ W00T! Engine noise beats and neo-Victorian instrumentation!

I did a horrible thing. Well, because I'm not being terribly productive and I want something to pass the time other than reading, movies and vegging on the interwebs, I reactivated my WoW account. It's still on the 10 day free reactivation at the moment; I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it going. But, it'll give me something to do. When school starts next fall, I'll cancel it again. I bought a new video card (ATI HD4850) and a new 2TB harddrive to replace some old drives. So, today I've been doing nothing but file transfering.

I'm going to try to be on here a bit more often. So, this was a quick update.

texas, work, steampunk, life, wow, music
