Holiday cheer
So the holidays are now in full swing.
Saturday night found me out at a pub having a good time at Athena's birthday party. Sufficient maple cream ale plus a decent burger, plus many good friends and some live music made for a fun evening.
Monday, my sister finally arrived home from Scotland for two weeks. It's always really nice to see her back; she's been living abroad for close to two years now.
Today, I finally managed to get out to see Return of the King with my friend Josh, his girlfriend Carmen, and Josh's sister Nicole. I'll give it a tentative thumbs up. The editing was noticeably choppy at times; that comes from knowing the book so well. I'll certainly be looking forward to the director's cut with hopes that the rough edges got smoothed out, and missing tidbits appear on screen. The screening could easily have had an intermission! Most of what was on the screen was well done, although the ending was predictably awkward.
