I am not a panda.

I'm afraid, through no one's fault, really, I'm in a bit of a state. I'm sorry if you needed to speak with me, but I was a bit wrapped up in my own thoughts around lunchtime, so I was of no help. Again, I'm quite sorry.

I rather hate to be damned if I do, though. As well as damned if I don't.

Padma, I hope you know what you're doing. With everything.

Honestly, I do, Hermione.

Believe me.

I do. I just - you see why I'm concerned, I hope? It's certainly not out of lack of faith in your abilities.

I do, Hermione. It's just something I have no desire to explain over these.

We should talk. Soon.

Well, our last talk did clear some things up but as events move forward...

Yes, we do need to talk. I'll meet you in the Arithmancy section of the library, if you like, in an hour, so you can finish whatever you're doing with Malfoy?

Actually, could I meet you before I meet with Draco? I'd feel better, clearing the air.

You're my friend, Hermione. I don't want you upset with me.

I'm not upset with you, not at all. Worried a little, maybe, but definitely not upset. I'll be there in ten minutes.

But there's nothing to be worried about!

Stuff it, know-it-all.

You know, Malfoy, every time you open your mouth you prove how self-centred you are. I wasn't referring to you, at least not specifically. It's not you I'm particularly worried about.

And why aren't you worried about me? Oh, right. Big Boy Who Lived Boyfriend's got your back. As long as he's not been imbibing.

You know perfectly well I was talking about Padma, you prat. Can't you at least be civil to me in her own journal? I was being civil. I was being more than civil.

pure_nobility May 4 2004, 21:36:52 UTC
Oh yes, cautioning Padma against me is so very civil. You are a paragon of fine manners, Granger.

I quite clearly stated that I was not cautioning Padma against you. Everyone here knows what I'm talking about. Why are you trying to find things to fight about? Honestly.

Me by proxy, Granger. Admit it.

Would you feel better if I broke things off? Surely that would ensure her saftey in this war torn world. Potter nearly gets himself killed every year and I see no one cautioning you against him. Funny, that. This is likely for two reasons: 1) No one cares who the sod you befriend or 2) People assume that you are a 'big girl' and therefore able to make your own decisions. Though I'm inclined to pick number 1, I'll give you the rare benefit of my doubt and assume that number 2 applies as well.

You're right. Not about the "me by proxy" bit, but about other things.

You're right. Go meet Padma in the library. I don't think I'm going there right now.
