I feel really bad that I never update anymore. Note to self: must try to make more time to write about all the happenings in my life.
Anyways, things are rolling right along for me. Times are stressful, trying to balance everything that needs to be done with everything else I want to do. This past weekend was wonderful, though. The choir that I am in went on tour in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. Singing highlight of the trip was definitely singing in the Basilica of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. This church was completely wonderful...it was gorgeous, and huge, and we sounded absolutely amazing. The city itself was unlike anything I've ever seen. I actually saw the White House! How great is that? I didn't get to actually get close to the White House, but I did get to see the Capitol Building, the Botanical Gardens, the Washington Monument, several of the Smithsonian museums, the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the FDR Memorial, and the brand new WWII Memorial. I took tons of pictures, I hope they all come out well! Another random thing that happened on the trip...my friend Kate and I were taking pictures in front of the Capitol Building, and there were these 5 Japanese businessmen with their nice cameras and video cameras standing near us. Next thing I know, one of them approaches me and is like "picture, picture" - so I naturally assumed he was asking me to take a picture for him and I reached for his camera. He was like "no, no, YOU, ME, picture!" and I was like "you want to take a picture WITH me?" "Yes, yes" - so I posed with him and the other guys took pictures, and then they all decided they wanted to take pictures with me and Kate, so one at a time they stood with us and the rest of them took pictures. It was all I could do not to crack up while it was happening, and afterward Kate and I laughed for about five minutes. All in all, it was a successful trip and I had a ton of fun. I also formed some new bonds that I hope last...there are some truly amazing people in the choir, and I never had any idea until this past weekend.
Got back on Sunday night and immediately went to Rachel's room, where we jumped on each other and were big dorks "I missed you so much!" It is now apparently torture for us to live without each other for four days (Ha ha). Anyways, we looked around for Ian but it turned out he wasn't coming back from Ireland until Monday, so we just hung out and then bedtime.
Monday was a hard day, lots to do this week and next, and I was exhausted from the trip. Monday night we tried to wait up for Ian but he didn't get back until the middle of the night, so that didn't work. Rachel and Matt and I did watch Farenheit 9/11, that was interesting to say the least.
Yesterday was nice because my therapy night class was cancelled, so I had the evening to get caught up with my work, and also my parents came to bring my car back for me. We all went out to dinner, yay for good food. Then I came back to the dorm, worked on homework for about 2 hours, and then Ian came over and we talked for a good hour. Rachel came in towards the end of our conversation, and then she and I talked for a while too, and went to bed.
Today I've just been going to classes and then to work, now I have about half an hour and I have to go to work again. I need to get all of my homework done by tonight so Rach and I can watch Frida...our lives are so exciting lol. Anyways, I just want to get through the rest of the week so that I can actually GO HOME this weekend, for the entire weekend. It will be the first time this year that I have been able to spend the entire weekend at home, usually its just for a night and then I have to get going early the next morning. I'm going to Geauga Lake with Katie on Friday, then chilling with everyone on Saturday, and hopefully going to Patterson's Fruit Farm when I get back on Sunday.
That's about it for now...I'm going to try to start updating more!
