This is the current synopsis for my NaNoWriMo novel. I wrote it last night in the NNWM forums and liked it better than the dinky one I had in my profile, so I copied and pasted it and now I thought I'd share it here. Any thoughts, reactions? They'd be greatly appreciated.
Hunters have always hated witches, have hunted them down and killed them from the beginning of time, and witches feel the same. So when the Warlock Torm Uthuru and Celene Anselm, a hunter of one of the Legendary Families, fall in love and conceive a child, they create what some have labeled an abomination.
With Witch and Hunter bloodlines mixed within her, Virginia spends most of her life running from those who would kill her. Above all else is her own uncle, Vincent Anselm and the band of hunters who follow him. On the other hand, the dark Witches and Warlocks who are drawn to the immense power she holds want nothing more than to steal that power from her. And none are more powerful than the Dark Witch Sybil, whose infamous power and wickedness cause any to tremble at the mention of her name. She has slept for a thousand years, and many have thought her dead, but she is awakened by the call of Virginia's power, and Sybil wants it for herself.
Unfortunately, though she senses the power of both lines within her, Virginia lacks the ability to use either. Ever since she was attacked while training under Master Cor, the famed weapons master who has trained Hunters from all the Legendary Families, Virginia has been forced to move from town to town and city to city to avoid those who want her dead. However, when the news of Dame Sybil's awakening threatens every living creature, Virginia must discover what power she does possess in order to stop Sybil, while her uncle Vincent continues to chase her.
Luckily, she's not alone. Markus, an apprentice Alchemist; Rhetan "Rhet" the demon familiar she never wanted; and Jason, a soldier and the son of Markus' Master, Alchemist Roderick, are all ready to make sure that Virginia doesn't fall into the hands of the people who want to kill her.
