Yep, it's time for another update. School has been in session for 6 weeks, so this is way over due. I'm not even sure where to start, to begin with. So, this will probably be another jumble of information and news.
So, let's start with me getting another roommate. She hasn't moved in, yet, but she will this Saturday. So, I'm going to have a full house and another month of rent in my bank account. Sounds great to me! This is the first time this girl is moving out of her parents house, so she's new to living on her own. She seems a lot more uptight than Jessica and I are, who've been living on our own for years, now. But, I think ( I hope *crosses fingers*) that everything will go well. We'll see starting Saturday.
My backyard is looking FANTASTIC!! I've worked so hard on it. Pulling all those weeds. Getting the sprinklers fixed. Mowing and trimming every week. Trimming down the Oleanders and removing the dead plants. I still have more plans for it. I want to plant rose bushes in the planters on either side of the backyard. I also need to replace the sprinkler heads with less crappy, not as breakable, better watering versions. Once I have the money, hahah. *rolls eyes* It's a goal, like so many other things having to do with my house. I'm not concerned, though, because I know that it's not necessarily all stuff that has to get done RIGHT NOW. So, I don't stress about it. I just hope I can keep rose bushes alive. They would be so pretty!
My car has been giving me trouble as of late. A couple of weeks ago, Jessica came home to tell me her story of how she went to get her oil changed and found out she needed a new transmission. Later that night as I was driving home from a movie, my change oil light came out. I immediately thought of Jessica, than told myself I was being silly. My transmission was NOT going to go out on me.
The next day I was out running errands. While at World Market buying new silverware, I'd called and made an appointment to get my oil changed with my usually people. As I was leaving, I realized that my car was not getting any acceleration, so I pulled over to the side of the road, turned off my car and tried to restart it. No dice. It wasn't going anywhere. This time when I thought of Jessica, I was a little more convinced.
Luckily, it wasn't actually my transmission, merely something a LOT of cheaper (my ; and a friend installed the part for me, so I didn't have to pay for that. I was very grateful. I was pretty sure that between that, getting my oil changed, and ripping off my driver's sideview mirror and glueing it back on, that I was good (rule of three, and everything). Nope, my oil change people told me I needed new tires (just two, thank goodness) and that my tie rod is loose. So, I bought my new tires (they were still +$250.00) and now I just need to get that tie rod figured out. All of that, of course, depends on having the money to have the work done. So, I'll have to hope my tie rod doesn't give out before I can get it to a garage. I hope it's not very serious!
Drama club is working on a skit show. It's a step up from the Improv Show. Half the scripts they are writing and half we are borrowing. ^_^ I'm hoping it works out. I'll just move on from there.
President Andrus, my mission president for the last three months of my mission, passed away because of cancer. He was a great man and will be greatly missed. His wife survives him. Even with having lost my grandmother just two months ago, I can't imagine what she must be going through. My heart goes out to her, and I pray for peace and comfort for her.
I washed my phone. Like, I seriously put it in the washing machine with my sheets and towels-on accident of course. Unfortunately, I realized this a little too late. Five minutes after I'd already started the washing machine, I pulled all my wet, soapy items out to find my poor phone at the bottom of the machine. It was wet inside and out. I could see water and bubbles sloshing around inside the screen. It was time to get a new phone.
Well, when my brother came down for a visit, he brought his Droid with him. And when I saw my sister at the family reunion and the week of the funeral, she had her Droid, too. It was no contest. I shelled out the money for the Droid and the extra data pack I'll have to pay monthly for it. It's totally worth it, though. I LOVE this phone. It freaking rocks. I can't imagine going back and I hope I never have to. This thing does EVERYTHING and then some. The only thing that would improve it would be an app that would punch people in the face for me.
Cassie and Jazzie are now living in Washington with Ken. They actually get to live together as a family. I hope it's for more than 5 months, this time. They've only lived there for about a month and already Cassie is pregnant. I'm very excited about it, and although she may say she's iffy about it, I know she's excited, too. Ken's been trying for a second child every time he's visited, so I know he's happy. He's really hoping for a boy, but we'll see. Cassie and I have had a few talks about baby names, already, so I can't wait to find out what she and Ken choose. IF they choose before the day the baby is actually born (*cough* Jazmyn *cough*). ^_^
I thought I would save Devin talk for last. I've missed recording a LOT of dreams, and I've already forgotten them, but I think that's okay. I had a dream recently in which Devin was home and was totally flirting and making it obvious he totally still wanted me. It's those kinds of dreams that give me an extra happy boost for the day. He has exactly six months left as of Saturday, the 11th. It's crazy to think that 18 months have gone by, already. I received another letter from him last month and he is doing so good. I can tell he is really into missionary mode right now. I can't wait to see him again; six months won't go by fast enough. However, I'm very excited for him and everything he's doing right now.
