So tired today. Saw John at the Royal Albert Hall yesterday evening. The show was fabulous, far more shiney and sparkly than the last one IMO. He had dancers and Danny Boys and the projected pictures to play off this time, plus, I mean, it was at the RAH :D not great for sound but a fabulous amazing atmosphere in an unusual building.
I got some pictures which I will upload later. Some of the stuff I expected, Danny and his talk about John's expertise in ironing, others I hadn't heard off, John and the Shite/shit story. It cracked me up when he said, "OMG I got you all to shout shite in the RAH" *giggle.*
Funnily enough, my favourite song of the evening was 'Rhinestone Cowboy,' which he sang for Scott. I'm a big fan of Country music, have been for years and years, but 'Rhinestone Cowboy' was the first Country song I fell in love with and discovered for myself, without other people saying 'oh listen to this,' 'you'll love this' or words to that effect. John did it fabulously of course.
The surprise of the evening for me was 'From A Distance,' a beautiful song, and echoes my personal sentiments about a whole load of stuff, but it's my least favourite song on the album. Last night it was amazing, with pictures of the earth from space projected onto the back screen - simply incredible.
One this which pissed me off, a girl sitting two rows in front of us who insisted in whistling very loudly and for a long time at every opportunity, sometimes when the music was still playing FFS. People had to block their ears the noise hurt so much. I don't mind a bit, but FFS she went on and on. I paid £40 for those seats and came to hear John and Danny not a selfish little girl whistling.
Favourite funny bit, his descriptions of the characters of Charlie, CJ and Harris. I nearly had tears rolling down my face, it was so funny.
