In a good year, he just sets presents in a "spot" - different for each person in the family. In a lean year, the one Santa gift is wrapped and under the tree. We'll be lucky if Santa finds his way here this year.

I don't remember the holidays being good times for me as a child.

When I was 5 I said Santa wasn't going to come to my neighbor's house. I meant because she was "bad" but my brother told my mom I said Santa wasn't real, and my mom punched me in the face for saying it in front of my little brother. I was pretty sure then and there that there was NO Santa. And probably no God either. I was also pretty sure I had no Mommy.

Yes, the one we opened was always pajamas and we were supposed to wear them.

I let the kids do it.

In 1988 I had a baby Dec 9. I lay him naked under the Christmas tree, in a beam of sunlight, to combat jaundice. He was a pretty great gift... Now he's all grown up and getting married.
