I am preparing to do my final project in my human development class, but first I have to present it to my professor. I want to do a psychosocial examination of three teen movies aimed at girls and examine what
social learning messages they imparted. I want to pick one each from the 80s, 90s and 00s. I've decided to pick either Sixteen Candles or Pretty in Pink for the 80s (I have hate for PiP, so that may bias me), and Whip It! for the 00s, but I am at a complete loss as to what to pick for the 90s. The 90s was not the decade in which I watched teen movies, it seems, because I am drawing a complete blank.
Tell me some movies that were aimed at teen girls released in the 90s. They need to be focused on the female character, and not an ensemble piece. I need to be able to state whether or not the movie accurately depicts the proper psychosocial developmental stages.
Big Ole ETA: I think I'm going for Clueless, unless someone can argue for another that may be better.
