One very old finish which I just got framed, and one brand new finish.
First the new one:
This is a gift for a coworker. It's of my own design, sort of. I took the napkin border from "Celtic Cross Stitch Samplers" by Angela Wainwright, changed the colors and used it for the knotwork, and added the thin-line boarder. Then found a font I liked on the web (www.freepatternsonline.com)and used it for the lettering. I also had some beads left over from the fairy I did below, and added them for the hearts. It's stitched on 18 count white Aida, with DMC cotton floss 2 over 1. The wedding is this Saturday - I just hope the framing is done in time.
Mirabella's "Fairy Flora." I finished this piece in 2000, but only just found a frame shop that knows how to handle cross stitch with beading. I just picked it up from the framers on Friday, and I LOVE that it's finally done!!! It took me 3 years to stitch, and 6 years to get framed! It is stitched on 18 count Aida (I don't know the color - I bought the fabric in 1997) with DMC cotton floss 2 over 1. Beads are all Mill Hill. I love the matting on this - it's sueded, so it gives the mat some texture.
More old finishes to come as they come back from the framers.
