Today has been the laziest Saturday that I could manage. And still, I seemed to be productive. I woke up early, damn my internal clock for knowing that at 6:15 it's time to wake the hell up! I refused to give in and slept off and on until 10:30. BONUS! Had a mini text chat with
leopardchic79 who is in New Orleans (without me *sad face*) as she waited for her flight(s) and then got up to have some breakfast... before crashing on the couch for another nap.
Yeah. Where I then slept for another 3 hours until the Cameroon/Denmark game was on. I was cheering for Cameroon and although they started off strong, they ended up losing. *woh woh*. While I watched I worked more on my afghan that I'm knitting and \o/ IT'S DONE!
After 3 weeks of working on it, it's done! I am so excited. It's the first of three that I'm knitting for my aunt to send up to the Reservation, and there are a few mistakes, a few pattern *glitches* but in all, it looks so good. And it's so f*cking hot! I was sitting under it, working on it, sweltering!
SWELTERING I tell you.
So now to celebrate? Some J2 big bang fic! *twirls* I love that I'm listening to the Reboot soundtrack while reading J2 fic.
There is so much going on around the city too, but of course, I'm a hermit and have been holed up in the house all day. The MMVAs are going on tomorrow, and they've had Queen St. shut down since yesterday, been building stages and people have been lined up all week waiting. Hedley was doing sound check last night and blew a fuse and all of Queen and Spadina had no power, which I find hi-larious. And every time a new band/act goes up to do sound check, my mother calls me to update since she works across the street. I just got a message 'Katy Perry just sang something.. it was good'. Well, it took her 3 times and someone helping her in the background to get the name, but I got the gist. So I could be down there, having a Crepe next door to my mom's work (they are retarded delicious) and seeing the action, or I could have gone to Taste of Little Italy ... or I could have gone to Luminato. But no. I stayed home, napped on the couch, knitted an afghan and watched Soccer.
And loved every minute of it.
Tomorrow mom and I are going to go down to Queen West and see what's happening. She's curious, I'm not but I like to humour her (and remind her how right I am) so we'll go. And then we're going to the Keg for dinner with my gift certificate I got at the Purina Nutrition Seminar I went to.
And then Monday, back to the grind. Blah.
