...my luck is wasted...

My computer is being a douche and a half tonight.  It could be this 'big storm' we're expecting *cue eerie music here*, or it could be that my computer is a big pile of shit.

I'm going to go with the latter and call it a day.  It's a much safer bet.

I'm sitting here, fighting with my computer as I resist the urge to knit (which I will be going back to momentarily.. the knitting, not the urge resisting), and waiting impatiently for Psychic Kids and Paranormal State to come on.  I missed last week's PS because i was exhausted and passed out at 8pm, so tonight I'm making myself stay up and watch.  I miss my PRS team!  *much love*

I swear, I'm about to fight twitter and/or my computer.  *deep breath*

So last night's heroes.  Huh.  I was ever so pleased with team Sylar/Peter.  *rowr*  Loved it and I loved just Sylar's looking to Peter for reassurance and god I hope leopardchic79 's muses kick into overdrive, because the potential here is so amazing.  Not to mention the ZQ/CP angst that comes with crushes on Milo... *swoon*

I seem to have no problem thinking up the fic ideas, it's just following through with the actual writing I'm having the problem with.

In political news, there is a race for the new Mayor of Toronto which we're voting for in the fall.  Blah blah blah.  Same old crap, I just want David Miller out.  So there are a handful of people running, and we'd heard that Adam Giambrone will be running in the race, which I think is laughable because he can barely manage the TTC, how the eff is he going to run Toronto (which the aforementioned David Miller has run into the ground).  So... I think it's laughable that Giambrone is running (and yes, I realize that most of you have no clue as to who he is, let alone cares, but I'ma still ramble about it) because it's very doubtful he's going to win.  Even if the TTC wasn't having this big war right now with riders (and don't even get me started on that whole issue), he just doesn't have the experience or the capabilities of winning, let alone running Toronto.

So insert a sex scandal.

I'm not even kidding.  Apparently, Giambrone has been having this 'inappropriate relationship' (his words) with a woman for the past year.  He's been on Toronto Council as an MP or MPP  or whatever, and now that he's running for Mayor, he's been stepping out with his 'girlfriend' and 'partner'.  She's actually really pretty.  Well in the Toronto Star today, this other woman, this 20 year old (he's 32) comes out and says that they've ben having this relationship for the past year or so.  She's leaked out texts that he's sent her, said that they'd had sex in his councilor's office at city hall after hours, and blah blah blah.   So he's only released a statement apologizing to his family, his friends and his girlfriend that he made some mistakes and had lapses of judgement and yes there was an inappropriate relationship but blah blah blah.

To which of course the city of Toronto is all abuzz about.  My favourite part of this whole 'scandal' was

A) that my grandmother was shocked and said (in her broken English but mostly Italian) You mean he's not gay?  I thought he was gay?
B) that she was actually kind of disapointed that he wasn't gay
C) that on Global TV they had people tweet in and email in and mostly people were all 'who cares what happens in the bedroom, he won't lose the mayoral race because of that, he'll lose it because he can't run one committee (the TTC) so how is he going to manage the whole city.

He's not married.  I don't care what he does.  I think he was stupid to think this wouldn't get out, and if he knew he wanted to run for mayor, he should have maybe kept less skeletons in his closet.  I mean, he thought she would keep it quiet.  He thought she would respect his decision to dump her for the more respectable girlfriend 'he even mentioned that, he was staying with his girlfriend because she was smart and pretty, while SHE (the mistress) looked good naked'.  And he was stupid to think she wouldn't run to the press with this.

All I know that no matter who wins this race, this city is screwed.

I just have to say, out of all the things that I could have heard today in the news, that was the last thing I was expecting.

paranormal state, rambling, toronto mayoral race, peter/sylar, heroes, knitting, the ttc sucks
