Found a new blog to be addicted to: http://unfuckyourhabitat.tumblr.com/

I like the way it encourages readers to break the sometimes overwhelming task of housekeeping down into manageable pieces. Sometimes I look at my house and I think, "OMG, I can't do this. I don't even know where to start..." And for the most part, it's not that my house is really all that bad (not that it's great by any stretch, but we don't need to call in a Hazmat team just yet), it's just that... damn, there's five of us living here, and a cat and a dog, and people keep on fricken' eating and they keep wearing clothes, and, and, and it's JUST TOO MUCH!!!

So I've been reading this, and it's like "Pick three things to put away, whatever is closest, or the first three things you see, and then come back". Or- make your bed- no excuses. Or, just do 20 minutes, then take a break. And I'm like, yeah, I can do that. I can do 20 minutes. It really discourages marathon cleaning, which leaves you feeling tired, and still overwhelmed.

My kitchen is clean. it's stayed clean for two days in a row. My bathroom, too. And my laundry is folded, and put away (except for Beloved's. He's a grown up and do his own- heck, I even made the kids do their own).

Tomorrow is yard day, though, so we'll see how the kitchen and bathroom hold up..
