Much is going on.

I am the first one to tell you that I don't know something. On this MLK day, I realize that I knew nothing of the vast suffering, of the courage of the the men and women on the front line of protesting. Oh, I had an idea, but it was only an idea.

This Friday I am protesting at my state capital during the actual inauguration against a man who has no business being the President. This Saturday I will travel to Boston to meet up with a friend and we will march for Women, for the LGBTQ community, for Immigrants, for Muslims, for the other. I will be that voice who says no, you can not come for them because you come for me when you do. I won't let you.

I am scared, honestly. I know for a fact that I will not face the horrors that others before me have faced during marches becasue I'm a white girl in a Northeastern city. Still scared. I've always been told to stay quiet, and things in my life have solidified staying quiet, to blend in with the wall, because when you were quiet, you were safe.

This is a step. Finding my voice.
My step.
