random dad thoughts
So there is nothing on and I switched on the tv and the abomination that is the Kardashians is on. So I watch...Don't judge...
Now I don't know if Bruce Jenner is transitioning, he has not said anything to the public, but I can see my dad in him. Same age, height, right down to the ponytail. The planning of a tux to walk his "daughter" down the isle. How uncomfortable he must have felt. I can remember my own father in a tux at my wedding. He did not want to be there. I'm sure my mom was unimpressed with the whole day as well.
I don't know if this moment I miss my dad, or miss the man on the screen who is interacting so happily with his family. I never had a close relationship with dad. He was so busy hating the life he had, trapped by one night of sex, and the baby that resulted. (hello).
I admit that I do like her more now, that she has transitioned. She is much happier.....but we are not close.
