Summary: "I never understood what that means," Harry said.
NOTE: There's some serious abuse of religion concepts here. Or maybe not. Although I never did figure out why Wizards 'celebrate' Christmas.
"I never understood what that means," Harry said with a nod at the arrangement of statues in front of the Muggle church.
"It's called a Nativity scene," Severus explained. "It is supposed to be a representation of the birth of the Christ child. The religion that claims him as their savior also claims that Christmas is his birthday."
Harry frowned. "That makes no sense," he admitted.
Severus shrugged. "There is an entire religion based on his life, and a book called simply The Bible," he said. "Some parts of it supposedly transcribes stories about the child as a young man."
"What kind of stories?" Harry was curious.
"If I recall," Severus had to think about what he had heard, "there are a number of allegories - tales that serve as morality tales for members of the religion."
"What else?" Harry was fascinated.
"There are large sections that are letters from followers to others to try convince them that the child is their leader," Severus went on.
"What about the child?" Harry considered parallels to his own life.
"Hmmm... he's famous for some so-called miracles, he died and supposedly was resurrected," Severus said.
"Do you think he was a wizard?" Harry asked.
