HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO MAKE OF DEVIT ATM. He doesn't really want to fight him at the moment because the very last thing he needs is another reason for Muraki to make him stay, but he's also kind of annoyed at how them fighting wasn't Devit losing his temper, only Damian. IDK eventually there may be some mutual dislike/respect thing going on.

THE THREAD WAS REALLY INTERESTING FOR DEVIT, because one of the things about Devit is that you can't really teach him concepts about himself/how he can be happier until he notices them himself in other people. For example a big part of the reason why he doesn't kill in camp is because he realized, when Joshua tried to kill him, that Joshua was being stupid and weak, and it was like it finally clicked for him that "Hey killing people in camp is . . . dumb! For a lot of reasons!" SIMILARLY, the truthpost thread with Damian was the first time he ever realized that it's stupid to give power over yourself/happiness to someone you hate as opposed to someone you like, and that both hating and liking are ways of bestowing power in and of themselves, so it's smarter to walk away from shit that upsets you. Which he . . . never figured out until it was coming out of his mouth, and then he was like "oh hey!" The other thing about Devit is that he automatically likes anyone he has power over, and he considers himself to have power over Damian

He's doin okay! I FEEL LIKE AT THIS POINT, I FORGET I PLAY ANYONE BUT DAIRINE AND DAMIAN but I get him out occasionally! It's really fun to play someone like Aqualad in contrast to Damian, because their answers to the same questions are so incredibly different, even though they're both half-feral children from a different world than the one they've been thrown in.

. . . My current lineup is limited ha ha I PLAN ON APPING SOME MORE SO! But as of right now, Tomo, I think. Tomo is pretty good with almost any type and he would probably be pretty Chiyo-eque for her. And Devit would not be a good choice and Cocoa would probably have no interest in him. :|a

I ALWAYS LIKE THIS QUESTION, and my response reminded me of it: how do you feel about your current lineup as a whole? Not the individuals, but as a whole entity--too many characters? Too few? Missing a type you want to play? Too many of a type? JUST RIGHT?

After... a full year of having two or more female characters at any given time, I feel really weird about just having Dairine. However, I feel like everyone is diverse enough to keep things interesting. I thought it was hilarious that I have one of each House and a wildcard (because sorting Aqualad is anyone's guess), so overall, personality-wise, I think there's a lot to work with. I THINK MY SPATE OF PLAYING TEENAGED GIRLS IS ON SUSPENSION. We've moved on to weird tweens.

Ha ha, I felt that way too when I suddenly had half men (or well, things that were like men). AS FOR ME my lineup is way too small for me right now; I took it down to the bare bones of characters I WOULD NOT drop but I'm missing a lot from my crew right now. Like anyone who is actually a nice/good person, ha ha. Or anyone intelligent/capable. I love my three, and I like HAVING three because I never have to worry about activity, but there's also like, a lot I can't do at the moment, and so I have a whole list of canons to check out and people to consider apping. WHICH I WILL TOTALLY DO SOON. One thing that's unfortunate is that the character I currently miss the most (Envy) would NOT go well with my current crew and didn't work that well for me in CFUD anyway, so I'm trying to figure out what to do about that, whether I'm going to try shoving him somewhere else.

Of your dropped characters, who do YOU miss the most?

Oh, silly, I don't miss dropped characters! I reapp them!

But really, I miss Mary a lot sometimes. She was really easy to just throw into most situations, plus her icons are adorable, which is why they're my ooc journal icons. Also, I am just like her sometimes. IT'S A MIDWEST THING, I'M SURE.

I also miss Katara on occasion. I think I dropped her too quickly, but I'm not the type of person to hem and haw on a decision, and keeping her was making me resentful of her.

Which makes me think: what's the biggest indicator that you need to drop someone?

I think Dick Grayson would be amazing fun to play, but I don't think I'm cool enough to pull him off. Parker or Hardison from Leverage, Kit from YW (which is why I read the books initially... but I couldn't get a feel for him). Actually, mostly I don't app people I want to, not because I'm afraid, but because there is no great calling. I think it's common knowledge that people have characters that ping them, but if I'm not feeling something 150%, there's no way. I'd become resentful of the character too quickly.

Is there anyone you've wanted to play, but felt they were too similar to current characters?

OH YEAH, that happens to me all the time, actually. XD Back when AJ had Akazukin, I'd been planning all along on apping with her as Luka, her bitchy little incubus catboy. But Luka is too similar to other characters I play/played at the time, and that's why it never happened. That's just one example! I have this issue with Jesus-types, where if I have one, I can't play any more. When I had Shirley, there were other characters of that type I wanted to app, but I can only handle one of them at a time. NOW THAT I DON'T HAVE SHIRLEY I MAY APP THEM, IDK! We'll see. \o/

Are there any tropes you just CAN NOT PLAY?

I can't play someone who is just sadistic. I mean, I say that and I played Jean-Baptiste? But that's, I think, different, because there were clear moments of sincere vulnerability. Everyone I play has to fail majorly in some way (usually socially) and they're mostly (8.5/10) intrinsically good. Damian gets a half point because it's suggested that he has goodness in him, even if he doesn't have a moral compass. I can't play anyone who isn't periodically vulnerable.

HONESTLY IT'S SORT OF THE SAME FOR ME--not the sadism, but the vulnerability. Like for example, I couldn't app Envy until he got TOTALLY OWNED in his canon. And then I was like OMG I MUST HAVE HIM. He's a complete sadist with absolutely no good in him so that wasn't my issue, but I needed for him to also be weak and topped and all that. MY APPING PATTERN IS FAIL, SO YEAH. I also can't play people who are all Xanatos Gambity. I can play intelligent people, even geniuses, but ONLY if they also act dumb. I could never play a character like Yagami Light who is always on top of shit and five steps ahead and has a Plan and all. Which is a shame because I genuinely adore his character and think he's fascinating. But I could never pull it off. I app villains but I tend to app the ones who either don't have a plan/don't go along with the plan (Envy, Devit, etc.) or ones who have an active life and social skills outside of the plan and really do like the people they're fucking over (Chao, Greed, Hyuuga). Not that Light doesn't, but in

Damian would be happiest if Dick-Batman came to camp, Tim left, and Dick gave him his undivided attention. Bruce coming and them having father-son bonding time would be okay too, as long as Damian can stay Robin, and Bruce doesn't divide his attention to anyone else. SO. I'M NOT SURE HOW REALISTIC THESE ARE. Killing Devit would actually conflict Damian, since now he knows that the people whose attention he wants frown on it.

Does Devit want anyone dead forever in camp?

Marian fucking Cross, yes. Devit would love him dead forever. And uh . . . he'd probably still like Joshua dead forever, and . . . the thing about Devit is that really anyone he dislikes he wants dead forever. He wouldn't necessarily DO it because he has too much to lose. But would he enjoy it if it happened? Hell yeah! Wishing death on people for minor slights is like, just how he works. He doesn't feel regret over those things. Even people he likes all right, he has to really LIKE you for him to be sad you're dead. He wouldn't be upset in the slightest if Damian died forever even though he's okay with Damian and enjoys talking to him. He doesn't wish it on him, but if it happened, he'd shrug it off. As for people he wishes it on, it depends on his mood and what they've done to him and how recently. Cross is the one person he WANTS SO SO SO DEAD.

I think he'd be right there next to her. He'd initially be obedient and cut his ties with camp people. Despite going against his mother's wishes, I think he would fall back into old habits after so long of being out of his element. It would be something secure and familiar if she were in camp, telling him what to do. If she tried to do anything to Damian's people (Muraki, Violet, Vanya, Ritsuka, Max, etc) he wouldn't hesitate to defy her. Same goes if she were to make him stop being Robin. The thing is! She can control his body with a fancy head doo-dah. It would be incredibly interesting. SOMEONE SHOULD APP HER. She's insane, and he knows this, but she's still his mother and he can't shake the awe that was ingrained in him.

Is there anyone for any of yours where it would totally change their situation in camp if they showed up?
