[Once Riff spoke, he turned around to face him, face very serious, the light from the second floor just catching the tension in his mouth and the pale angle of his chin. But Cain soon stepped closer to the light, his shoes clicking on the floor, and a long-fingered hand reached out between them, stopping short of Riff's coat. Instead of resting there, it hovered uncertainly.
