[As Haruhi is on her way to House 2, Sokka will be coming from the opposite direction on his way into town. Inevitably they will run into one another, right? Except Sokka doesn't know who she is, so he only gives her a vague nod as he sees her ahead on the path.]

[Oh it's Sokka- well he should know about-]

Hey Sokka! Is Winry up yet? [Obviously Winry isn't normally awake at this hour, but it's worth asking]

[Give him a second, when he hears his name he peers at her. She does look vaguely familiar. But he doesn't make the connection she's the girl Avatar Sokka talked to. So he passes it off as a classmate or someone relatively new that doesn't get out much. Especially if they're only now checking on Winry.]

I wouldn't know. They kidnapped her last week. [A little bitter? You betcha. He doesn't necessarily celebrate Christmas, but kidnapping her on the day of? Dick move.]

Kidnapped?! What...?! [Her eyes go wide. She takes back a step. Now?! Now?!]

[And hen she hangs her head, a fist clenching at her side. That's-]

...So not fair. What the hell.

[Must be a friend of Winry's. Well, he doesn't know her well enough to, you know, console her that much. But uh, he should probably say something.]

I know, it isn't. [A frustrated sigh.] But there's nothing we can do.

[godbent]

Of course I know that. [And she makes her own frustrated sigh before glaring at the dirt below her like it deeply wronged her. Or well, snow and dirt. But finally, she looks back up for Sokka after a distinct pause]

But taking her just before I show up? What's with that?

[Oh! That explains why he doesn't recognize her. She's been gone for awhile. Whoever she is. Hm.]

Well it's not like they're known for their timing. How long have you been back?

[godbent]

...Probably like ten hours or so. Maybe thirteen. [It's hard to tell when you show up in the middle of the night]

Well if I see her first, I'll let her know you're back. [How does he has her name without making it obvious her forgot her name? He can't. Crap.]

[... Oh come on. Is she going to need to do this every time?]

[HA! That rhymes with Haruki. But uh, she probably wouldn't get the joke.]

Right. Haruhi. [Oh hell, he'll make the joke anyway.] Be careful, people might mistake you for Haruki. Or that you're his long lost sister... or girlfriend... or something like that.

[She takes a step forward then, jabbing a finger at Sokka's cheat, planning to try to shove him back in all of her imposing 5'2ness]

And for that matter, you know me, Sokka! Haruhi Suzumiya, the chief of the SOS-Brigade! I've known you for about a year now! I was only sent home two months ago and even if the Malnosso nuked all of your memories into some stupid lie are you really that stupid that you can't even put one and two together?! I'm Haruhi Ha-Ru-Hi!

I'm- I'm- [Inhale, leans back, and then probably making a huge scene after a pause of biting her lips, she finishes off with a tremendous-]

[But she doesn't know to star to blush that much until after she finishes and the anger abates a little]
