All of these "ask me any question" things seem to be wrapping up senior year. I wrote something about high school, it's stream of conciousness and a little bit out there. It's supposed to look random because it's like my thought process. You may see something in there you remember, you may see yourself referred to. You may hate it, and who knows...you might even like it. But this is how I feel about high school, so welcome to the roller-coaster of my mind.
Enter ninth grade (stage left) and do you remember Elm Street? Don’t go up the down stairs, we were freshmen and owned the world. Canobie Lake and teacup rides, yearbooks filled inside with inside jokes-bus rides-and-science teachers-/document parades/reading check/Valentines Day Dance/(oh they were the craziest) here comes “graduation” let’s all dress up and sing

Now it’s tenth grade and we’ll remember (towers that fell) is that teachers that broke fingers chalk on the walls and holes in the ceiling-beware the ides of march-meet new people and get closer to others they are the best, they are the reason-lockdowns and geometry with snowflakes. Mock congress, English class, smileandlaugh because they are the funniest-
Junior year, you got older and you don’t know how / it would behoove you to remember and live vicariously through (the people around you they are the most beautiful) studies with physics equations that meant nothing- first grow out your hair and get rid of the glasses and braces and suddenly you’re the person you might become. Tests and quizzes then you’re learning and working and (who knows, you could be) living. Always remember history-classes-and-videos-and-studygroups (who lives in Pelham?) the ultimate tribute, it’s because we respect you, they were the best and he was the best-
Senior year. Take a deep breath, let is out slow(ly) slide down the slides at Roby Park at night. Coffee houses and driving to school UNITe with THEMovie night complete with gears that make the robots work.
Christmas parties and crashing cars, dancing and dress shopping Laugh until you can’t breathe until you cry (because it’s ending) there are memories on each step of the Filene’s escalator and
wait. Stop. It’s time for college and tours and research papers and the word (goodbye) is always on your mind. Did you do the reading last night? No, I was in a chatroomeet people the same second you leave them.
Will you remember me because I
can’t-ever-forget-you
They were / he was / they are / it was / we were /
The best, funniest, most beautiful
group ever (rides to school ever)
friends ever (video ever)
teachers ever (walks in the halls ever)
memories ever (never say goodbye ever)
ever.
I’ll paint you the picture of the past
Four years and you’re blurred into the lines and shades of the colors and you’re there because you people
Are

It
worthwhile, beautiful, funny, tolerable, amazing.
(do you know how much I’ll miss my hugs in the morning?)
I guess all I really want to say is
Thank You.
