Well, it's happened- I've found a job.
At a call center.
Crap.
The first 2 weeks is training, and runs from 4pm-12mid Mon-Fri. Amanda's schedule is 9-5. That means we'll only even see each other on the weekend, which is crappy. Who knows what ridiculous hours they'll give me after training is over... In any case, it's more money than EI, and I can always go back to the Princess of Wales in February to work Lord of the Rings.
Lord of the Rings. My, my, Mirvish... I hope you can pull this off, because if this show bombs, you're finished. I don't know if any of you kiddies managed to squeeze in a visit to the tour of "Evita"? The anniversary tour, or something like that. Either way, it was the worst thing I've ever seen in my life- with the exception of the fine actor who played Che- the actors couldn't sing, dance OR act... you'd think they'd at least be able to do ONE of those things!!
After Evita though, we were priviledged enough to be part of the touring company of "Les Miserables". Randal Keith and Robert Hunt, played Jean Val Jean and Javert (respectively), and with those guys in the lead, and a freaking amazing cast, the show was most likely the best rendition of Les Miz... ever. Colm, eat your ass out.
Then I went over to the Royal Alex for 2 weeks to usher at "Dame Edna: Back with a vengeance!". If you EVER get the chance to see the Dame, please do- it's one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. Hopefully I can get my hands on some of the earlier stuff- comic gold.
Then, let's see, a 3 week lay-off, and now I have a new job... a crappy job.. a temporary job (I hope).
Apparantly, I am going to be one of those customer service guys who you call when your satelitte radio isn't working- and they've told me most of the people who call are irate Americans who just want to yell at me... oh boy.. sounds like fun.
Oh well, I can deal with it- who knows- maybe someone I know will call, and I can upsell them and get a friggin Christmas bonus..
We'll see.
Anyway, I got drunk last night at Kareoke and (apparantly) did the best damn AC/DC cover of "Dirty Deeds" I've ever done! I was also informed that while on stage, I "jumped" and the entire audience was convinced I was about to loose my balance and fall and die.. well, I didn't, and the peeps liked it, so good.
Ok- I'm gonna get back to writing my script here, versus ranting about nothing in particular. Ta.
